Jets Are Rebuilding, Right?
The John Idzik Jets are making changes. Lots of them. Personnel wise and schematically on offense. Can anyone honestly make a case for the notion that this process is NOT a rebuilding, but a readjusting on the fly?
Rex Ryan was out selling the alterations as par for the course last week to the media. That roster turnover is normal for every club. Not everyone associated with the Jets, especially Rex who is currently strapped in to the hot seat, is ready to hand over a 4-12 season before it even starts.
What diehards out there though, are buying into the vision that the Jets should be “feared?” The way that Rex told us days ago during an offseason presser. Anyone? Not us. Feared? No.
Owning the ability to surprise people? Sure. After all, look at Florida Gulf Coast right now. It all means nothing on paper when the forgotten and overlooked players come to life together on the field. That’s what Rex should be selling. It would be more honest.
Revis for The Bucs 1st and 2nd round picks in 2014?
We heard last week that Tampa would be willing to make that deal now. Even before Darrelle Revis shows that he is completely back from the knee injury. Would you make that deal as Jets GM? We probably would, if a third small addition is sprinkled in. Like a fifth or sixth rounder this year.
Obtaining four of the first 64 picks in next years draft, one that many feel has more talent than this year’s college crop, is smart. It would also give the Jets more time to clear cap space and redo contracts going forward.
Keep the great Revis if he works within the financial framework. If not, deal him for two top sixty picks and some. Do it.
Shutting down one WR in a sport that is valuing 3-4 at once more and more is not worth QB money. Sorry.
Fred Davis? If Healthy, Yes Please.
Adam Schefter reported yesterday that the Jets are among a handful of clubs interested in Fred Davis. The former Redskins TE is coming off an Achilles injury but if he’s healthy, we’d love this signing. He’s big, strong, and can get downfield.
In 62 career games Davis has 155 receptions, 12 TD’s. Keller in 72 games has 241 grabs and 17 TD’s. That’s similar enough production wise for us. Sell him a bigger role than the Buffalo Bills and others who seek his services can Mr. Idzik. Let’s get this guy.

THE PASSION OF THE TIM?
New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow has been offered a role in a faith-based movie by the film's executive producer via a letter to his agents.
The 2013 NFL Draft is a little less than one month away. Currently, the New York Jets have the 9th overall pick and then a pick in every round following. Obviously that could be subject to change if Darrelle Revis is traded in the next few weeks. There has rarely been a Jets off-season so well shrouded in radio silence than the current one being led by new GM John Idzik. A newly...
New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow got on the Wichita State men’s basketball team bus Sunday to wish them well in the NCAA tournament and congratulate them on their 76-70 victory over No. 1 seed Gonzaga. “Just go out there and ball out,” Tebow said. “Leave nothing on the court.”
Free-agent outside linebacker Bryan Thomas was the longest-tenured New York Jets player last season, having appeared in 157 games over 11 seasons.
Yet, Thomas now 33 is contemplating retirement after doctors found a torn tendon in his shoulder when they operated on a pectoral muscle injury six weeks ago. As Thomas explained to the New York Daily News:
“I haven’t even...
It’s appearing more and more likely that the Patriots will only have to face Darrelle Revis once this year.
The Jets cornerback is expected to be traded to the Buccaneers for two “high draft choices,” according to Peter King of Sports Illustrated. New England plays the Bucs at Tampa Bay next season.
The Jets owe Revis $6 million in 2013. Trading Revis won’t save them any...
Believe it or not Tebow is still a member of the Jets. At least for right now they have no plans on releasing or trading him, but no matter what they say, he isn’t in the mix to be the starting quarterback.
He has a lot of post career options, he will make a ton of money (already has) from speaking engagements, but maybe he can make a few more dollars acting.
Producer David Dginguerian...
It was a season to forget for both Tim Tebow and the New York Jets. Now it seems as if their unhappy marriage will be over sooner rather than later.
If the whole NFL quarterback thing doesn’t work out for Tim Tebow, he has an offer for a second career.
The Jets quarterback has been offered a starring role in a faith-based film by executive producer David Dginguerian. Dginguerian produced the 2012 religious film Crossroad (not to be confused with Crossroads, the 2002 film starring Britney Spears).
“I would like to extend...
Tim Tebow has been known to give the occasional motivational speech or two, and the Jets quarterback imparted some of his wisdom on the Wichita State basketball team on Sunday.
When the Shockers returned to Kansas after upsetting top-seeded Gonzaga to reach the Sweet 16, they were surprised at the airport by Tebow, whose plane happened to be refueling there.
He told the players to...
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Wichita State University's men's basketball team got an unexpected new fan when they arrived home after their latest NCAA tournament victory.
A plane carrying New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow was refueling in Wichita when the Shockers' bus arrived Sunday after their upset win over top-seeded Gonzaga. Tebow's representative asked coach Gregg...
