AFC East Daily:
San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner won't be "San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner" for very long. After getting fired by the Chargers in two weeks, he'll likely become some needy team's offensive coordinator by the end of January. That team could very well be the New York Jets. The Tony Sparano experiment didn't work out in 2012 for the Jets, and Sparano will likely make his New York exit during what looks to be an oncoming housecleaning by the Jets' brass following the season. The Chargers visit the Jets Sunday in a matchup between two reeling teams that used to be among the conference's best. The consensus on Turner, who is an elite offensive mind, is that he's not head coach material. But that doesn't discount his offensive prowess. When asked about his openness to taking an offensive coordinator job, Turner told Jets reporters, "I like coaching. I want to coach.""If I continue to coach, I want to be in a good situation, a ...

Now that reports have surfaced that Norv Turner will be fired as the head coach of the San Diego Chargers, he seemingly has made his peace with the inevitable.
Turner has always been lauded as having an offensive mind and he stated on Wednesday that he can see himself walking into a new situation as the offensive coordinator or as a position coach.

Kevin Acee of Union-Tribune San Diego tweets that current Chargers head coach Norv Turner will have “his pick of at least five” offensive coordinator jobs once he’s fired.
Acee specifically mentions that Jets could have interest in bringing in Turner to run their offense, but adds that “he will not end up in New York.”
It’s been suggested for awhile now that if Turner...
Norv Turner says he hasn't given much thought to what's expected to be his last week as coach of the San Diego Chargers.
Turner has heard all the speculation he'll be fired because the Chargers are out of the playoffs for the third straight year.
The coach says team president Dean Spanos hasn't told him anything about his future. Spanos has said he'll decide...
THANK YOU MAMA
Takeo Spikes turned 36 years old, and the NFL linebacker received a funny birthday present from his mom. See what she sent him.
San Diego Chargers linebacker Takeo Spikes is rich, rich with love from his mother. He turned 36 years old on Monday and his mom didn't forget about him. This Instagram photo that Spikes posted is quite hilarious. It's a picture of his mom's gift of $36 and a note saying "don't spend it all in one place." Nothing like some old mom humor to end the...
According to Albert Breer if the NFL Network, the San Diego Chargers might be interested in Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as a possible replacement for Norv Turner.
Also, hearing Josh McDaniels’ interest in Browns isn’t as strong as you might think. And that San Diego could be interested in him.

Before Week 15, there were 8 victims of the NFL grind, and with arguable exceptions, they were all declared 'dead men walking' quite some time ago. After Week 15's slate of games, there would be another quartet of lifeless masses heaped upon the Football Nation Morgue, all with just a smidgen more optimism than that original group of tagged-and-bagged cases. As these final...
The 5-9 San Diego Chargers travel to the 6-8 New York Jets for a game with zero playoff implications and that has not been receiving much attention except for the Jets' QB controversy and the Chargers' head coach Norv Turner's long-overdue firing. However, there is some intrigue. Maybe intrigue is too strong a word. Perhaps mild entertainment value is more apropos.The...

The Chargers are 5-9 with 2 winnable games left on the schedule. The problem is, they don’t win winnable games. They’ve lost their last 4 games and 7 of their last 8 when favored or as small underdogs. They somehow beat Pittsburgh as huge underdogs, when the the...
Week 15 Injury Analysis is up and there’s not a lot of new injuries to discuss so I’m going to make this a “Reader’s Suggestion Issue” in which I’m going to let anyone make a comment regarding what player’s they would like updates on and I will be given quick responses so that you can hopefully use the information to take down the crown in our league.
There is just...
As we head for the finish line of the regular season teams are either preparing for the playoffs or preparing to clean out their lockers. When a team cleans out their locker early it puts that teams coach on what we all call “the hot seat”. Plenty of coaches will be feeling the heat this offseason, let’s see which ones will be looking for work elsewhere next year. We’ll start...
