LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- One comment made by Bears head coach Lovie Smith on Monday struck me as odd."We haven't had problems like that [the Tommie Harris situation] in past," Smith said. "We haven't had to deal with things like this in the past. We know you play the game between the whistles."Excuse me? Charles Tillman essentially cost the Bears a game versus Tampa in 2008 for taking a swing at Bucs receiver Michael Clayton in overtime. Remember that? The Bears were about to force Tampa to punt from their own 10-yard line, but then Tillman got flagged 15-yards for unnecessary roughness, which gave the Buccaneers a new set of downs. The Bucs then went on to march down the field and win the game on a Matt Bryant 21-yard field. Granted, Tillman wasn't ejected, but how can you not draw parallels between the two incidents?What about Mark Anderson shoving Pittsburgh tight end Heath Miller after a play in week two? -- which resulted in a $5,000 fine.Isolated in...
