NASHVILLE, Tenn. Titans running back Shonn Greene injured a knee against Pittsburgh (Week 1) and did not play last week against Houston. According to multiple reports, Greene underwent arthroscopic surgery Monday night and is expected to be out several weeks. "We hoped we'd get through this process of giving him a couple days to see how it responded," Titans head coach Mike Munchak said Monday, prior to the determination of surgery. After rushing for more than 1,000 yards the past two seasons for the Jets, Greene was signed to be more of a bullish runner and change-of-pace back for Chris Johnson. Against the Steelers, Greene had four carries for 18 yards before getting injured. Starting defensive tackle Sammie Hill could miss several games after injuring an ankle against Houston. He was signed as a free agent after three seasons with Detroit.

Titans blow lead, lose to Texans in overtime

It seems as if a slow start is going to be a trend for the Tennessee Titans this season.  After immediately handing the Pittsburgh Steelers two points last week, the Titans gave up 79 yards on the ground leading to a Houston touchdown on their opening drive Sunday. Though down a touchdown to start their opening drive, Jake Locker connected with former first-round pick, Kendall Wright...

Coach, QB agree Titans must play better on offense

It's a good chance the Tennessee Titans would be even more frustrated by their offensive struggles if they were winless. Still, things are bad enough with Titans 1-1 going into their home opener. Receiver Kenny Britt sounded off on Twitter, saying this looks like his final season in Tennessee. He said Wednesday that he was just frustrated about the explanation the Titans gave...

Titans eager to be home after OT loss at Texans

The Tennessee Titans know they only have themselves to blame for not being 2-0 with a win over a division rival to start the season. They were still disappointed Monday after a 30-24 overtime loss in Houston, knowing they had an 8-point lead with less than 5 minutes left and couldn't finish off the win. But the Titans were also looking for the silver lining in the loss. "...

Benching serves as Kenny Britt's warning from Tennessee Titans

Kenny Britt is big enough strong enough and fast enough to make a big impact for the Titans every week. Through two games however the wide receiver has been mostly invisible. He was benched for a stretch of the 30-24 overtime loss to the Texans on Sunday because coaches were tired of his mistakes and his lackadaisical approach to blocking. If the Titans are going to be potent on...

Bernard Pollard Says NFL Wants ‘Two-Hand Touch’ After He Gets Fined $42,000 for Hit on Andre Johnson

Bernard Pollard says the NFL just wants him to play two-hand touch. That may be true, but if the safety does revert to two-hand touch, he still needs to remember not to use those two hands to hit anyone’s head. The head area appears to be the sticking point in Pollard’s hit on Houston’s Andre Johnson in last Sunday’s game. While Pollard led with his shoulder on the crushing...

The NFL has fined Titans safety Bernard Pollard $42,000 for his hit on Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson. Kenny Britt tweets he won’t be returning to Titans

Kenny Britt may be giving the thumbs up to unrestricted free agency. (AP Photo) A year ago, tight end Jared Cook decided to leave the Titans in order to test unrestricted free agency when the team wouldn’t pay him the money he desired. He rejected the tight end-position franchise tag and ended up signing a 5-year, $35.1 million deal with the Rams. Now, it appears that Kenny Britt...

Notes from the all-22 of the Titans offense against the Texans

I made it through a watch of all the Titans' offensive plays against the Texans using the all-22 overhead and end zone angles. Note this was not as in-depth a review as I prefer to do; my concentration here was on making it through the entire game, not being as exhaustive as I like to be. As is normally the case, what I write in this post is a mix of very specific and pretty...
