PLAYERS: Wes Welker
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker stars in a new (and very strange) commercial for Old Spice which features lizards eating his legs. Because, naturally, nothing makes people want to buy Old Spice deodorant like watching lizards eating an NFL player's legs. We don't blame Welker for cashing in on his fame. He's gotta make his money while he can. We do have to wonder, however, why Old Spice would agree that this was a good idea, but that's another story. Video via Old Spice. Wes Welker’s legs eaten off by lizards in one of three new Old Spice ads (vids)

Old Spice unquestionably has stepped up its advertising game over the past several years, increasing its relevance and evolving from a product that one thinks a grandpa would use into a line of men’s care products that is hip and happening and something the younger set would be interested in purchasing. Old Spice has done […]The post Wes Welker’s legs eaten off by lizards in...

Wes Welker: Scrappy Scent Salesman

Tired of only hawking adult diapers and hair transplant clinics, Wes Welker is now pushing Old Spice in a series of ads. And what do you know? They’re actually *not* terrible, which is a true rarity for commercials either featuring football players or featured during football broadcasts. Nicely done, marketing people. Oh, and there’s one with Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, who...

Contrary to the opinions of many onlookers, Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker will record huge stats in 2013

Listed as probable with a bummed ankle, Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker will absolutely shine tomorrow night against the Baltimore Ravens in Denver. Signing a two-year contract worth $12 million to join the Broncos on March 13, the 32-year-old Welker will prove to be Peyton Manning’s favorite target this season. Despite compiling 118 receptions for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns...

This is an odd way to peddle deodorant

Wes Welker in a snow globe? Really? This is kind of troubling, really.

Should the NFL adopt college football's replay rules?

Last night’s game was a great way to open the NFL season. Two playoff contenders battled it out, and at the end of the night, it was clear where the game hinged. Early in the third quarter, the Broncos trailed the Ravens by three points. Then Wes Welker dropped a third down pass – except he didn’t. The officials called the play a completed pass, and the Ravens failed to...

Broncos' Wes Welker appears ready for week 1, Champ Bailey uncertain

The Denver Broncos have released their first injury report for week one and WR Wes Welker was a full participant and appears he will play Thursday night against the Ravens.  The final injury report for the Broncos will be released on Wednesday. When they release the injury report on Wednesday they will apply the probable-questionable-doubtful statuses so we may have a better understanding...

Broncos Wide Receiver Wes Welker Is 5’9″ Of Hilarious In These Old Spice Commercials

[PHOTO: CBS Denver] Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker is a perfect choice as the latest athlete to star in the WHACKY Old Spice Commercials. Deodorant is a perfect product for Welker to promote as he is dying to rid himself of that Bill Belichick smell. Wes Welker is 5’9″ of hilarious, perhaps he has a future in acting? Maybe he can team up with Rex Ryan for Dr. Scholls...

Are you as sad as I am to see Wes Welker in a Denver uniform? Glad to see he played so well. Just love the way Wes plays and wish him well.

Not gonna lie, it was a little strange and was a little bit of a gut punch. The interesting thing to...

Time to see Welker in a Broncos jersey...

Even now, months after Patriots All-Pro wide receiver and fan favorite Wes Welker signed with the Denver Broncos, it is still going to hurt seeing him in a different jersey. Welker sported #83 during his time in New England, shattering various team receiving records while asserting himself as the prototypical slot receiver. Seriously, try to name another player who owns the short...

Cut Down Saturday and Week 1 Fantasy Football Plays/Stays

As a kid, one of my favorite five-minute spots on Sesame Street was when The Count would show up somewhere, count random stuff, laugh hysterically, and disappear into the mist. Little did I know that he would follow me into adulthood, dropping the monocle and numeric wizardry in exchange for a creepy little buddy and knowledge of the top 300+ college football players who have decided...

Harbaugh: 'We never saw' replay of Wes Welker's dropped catch

Early on in the third quarter of Thursday night's Broncos-Ravens game -- a 49-27 blowout win for Denver that featured a record seven touchdowns for Peyton Manning -- there was a controversial non-move from John Harbaugh when he decided not to challenge what was an obvious drop by Wes Welker. Harbaugh defended the move after the game saying the Ravens "never saw" replay...

Peyton Manning-to-Wes Welker Is Hard to Watch for Patriots Fans, But Denver Still Has Quarterback With Playoff Problems

For the world of Patriots fans hoping to find a definitive assessment of whether it was foresight or foolhardy to let Wes Welker go last offseason, Thursday night was an obnoxious affair. First he was good, getting the one-on-one separation that makes his name often go along with the adjective “shifty.” Then he dropped a pass, incurring Gisele Bundchen mentions from all corners...

Broncos Lead Ravens 35-17 Heading Into 4th Quarter

DENVER (AP) — Peyton Manning threw five touchdown passes — two to his newest target, Wes Welker — to help the Denver Broncos build a 35-17 lead over Super Bowl champion Baltimore after three quarters Thursday night in the season opener that started 33 minutes late because of lightning. This marks the seventh time in Manning’s career he has thrown for that many scores in a...

Eagles Defense still a Mystery Tour...and a tribute to our FF players...

This site just graduated to a bigger and better server, which caused a longer-than-expected delay as internet services around the globe caught up with our new location at varying speeds of adjustment. I apologize on behalf of the network for the incovenience. I watched the Ravens get shredded by Peyton Manning, Wes Welker and the Broncos during my own delay of access to the site...
