Notice! That’s what the rest of the NFC North has been put on as Detroit continues to put up yards and points by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-14 today from EverBank Field. More so though the Lions fought back to .500 to 4-4 after starting 2-4. With the win, Detroit is giving themselves the opportunity to fight for a playoff spot in what is turning out to be on of the toughest divisions in football. Green Bay sits at 6-3 after a win against Arizona, Chicago had an absolute stomping against Tennessee to go to 7-1 and Minnesota who plays later today is 5-3 and could be 6-3 or 5-4 with the win or loss. But if you want further proof of this division’s toughness, the NFC North is the only division with a team not under .500. All four teams are also in the plus category with points for and foints against. Detroit though has seemed to work out their early season struggles and the Jaguars were the perfect team to work out any left questions. From the first snap it was clear Detroit wa...

Detroit Lions run over Jaguars

In the Detroit Lions’ 31-14 rout of Jacksonville, the ground game proved enough to beat the now 1-7 Jaguars. The Lions came into this game wanting a balanced offensive attack, and stuck to it effectively.  Detroit passed 33 times and ran 34, with both proving effective against an outmatched Jacksonville defense. Running back Mikel Leshoure led the way for Detroit, scoring three...

Lions back at .500 but facing tough road ahead

The Detroit Lions finally started fast, finally ran the ball consistently and finally won a game that didn't come down to the final seconds. Not a bad day's work - but all it did was bring the Lions back to .500 at the season's halfway point. At 4-4, Detroit is still in last place in the NFC North, facing an uphill climb to reach the playoffs. The schedule doesn'...

Maurice Jones-Drew ruled out for Colts game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without running back Maurice Jones-Drew for Thursday night's game against Indianapolis. Coach Mike Mularkey ruled Jones-Drew out Monday, no surprise since he's still wearing a walking boot on his sprained left foot and using a push cart to get around the facility. Jones-Drew has missed the last two games, both...

Calvin Johnson thinks he’ll be playing with knee pain all season

Calvin Johnson turned in one of his best performances of the season as the Detroit Lions defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but it is a well-known fact that he did not feel his best. Johnson has been dealing with pain in his left knee that kept him out of practice all week. Unfortunately for Detroit, he feels it may limit him all season. “It’s probably something I...

NFL Rumors: Calvin Johnson May Play, But Should Fantasy Football Owners Bench Detroit Lions WR Today?

Both Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions expect that Megatron will suit up this afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but should that automatically mean that fantasy football owners should start him? Not only has he failed to come even close to replicating last season’s historical numbers, but his injury has limit his production yet again today. In fact, it may also limit...

Justin Blackmon reeled in his first career touchdown this week

When the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted J-Black in the first round they thought his title and story would have came up in week 1, not week 9, but yesterday Justin Blackmon caught five passes for 32 yards and his first career touchdown in the Jaguars’ Week 9 loss to the Lions. Blackmon had a decent game, but he lacks concentration and awareness at times and offers little-to-nothing...

Jaguars blogger going out on a limb

This has been a rough season for Jaguars fans, and my predictions for this team's success have been next to useless. That being the case, I've seen a lot to like from Blaine Gabbert over the past couple of weeks, and the Jaguars are catching the Detroit Lions at the right time. Calvin Johnson, by far the Lions' biggest threat on offense, could be out against the Jaguars...
