Found December 26, 2012 on The Penalty Flag:

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ season came to an unceremonious end at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Super Bowl hopes and dreams are over for the 2012 season, but we fans will not stop watching the games. Now, it is time to find other things to root for. First and foremost, Steelers fans should be ready to root against the Bengals. For the second year in a row, they will sneak into the playoffs, and for the second year in a row, they have no business being there.… Read more

  • I hope whats next is the firing of Tomlin, Haley and Big shot Colbert, a major shakeup and overhaul needs to be done and Tomlin should be the first, after Cowhers team has depleted it shows just how much he can coach, which he cant, he lost the team, its undisciplined, un motivated, same penalties never rectified, nothing changed and its all on him period, the experiment is over it was a failure.
  • holy crap !! somebody out there has seen the light !!! maybe tomlin could take a good team and make it great, but he sure as hell could not take a bad team and make it good !! he sucks and should be fired !! take all that blustery bravado he has shown on post games etc and go elsewhere !!!

Two Changes the Steelers Must Make in 2013

The personnel side of changes will take care of themselves as the off-season begins about 4pm on Sunday for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Decisions of who will be cut and who will be scouted in the draft are already underway but there are two specific changes I’m looking forward to the Steelers making on the coaching staff. The first thing that needs to be addressed is somewhat taking...

Steelers represented at the Pro Bowl with 2 players, none from the defense

For the 12th year in a row the Steelers will send multiple players to represent the team in the annual Pro Bowl game. Now, multiple normally implies more than 2, at least in my mind but considering how this season as gone there really weren’t many deserving on the team unfortunately so we’ll take what we can get right? This is the fewest number the team has sent since 2000 when...

Roethlisberger blames self for Steelers collapse

Ben Roethlisberger's passing rating and passing yards per game are up from his career average, while his completion rate is the same it's been over his eight year NFL career.   But Roethlisberger says its how he's played which has put the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8) out of the playoffs. "A lot of it just has to do with me not playing well enough down the stretch...

Steelers NT Casey Hampton Open To Playing Elsewhere Next Season

Steelers NT Casey Hampton has been a staple of Pittsburgh’s defense for the past 12 seasons, but the 35-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and there has been plenty of attention paid to the overall age of the team’s defense unit. Hampton appears to be more than aware of the situation that he’ll be faced with in March, but believes...

Ben Roethlisberger at a loss to explain drop in 4th quarter rallies this season

It was almost a staple in Pittsburgh. Being down in the fourth quarter pushed the Steelers offense into overdrive, with Big Ben manufacturing late rallies to win close games. This season, not so much, and QB Ben Roethlisberger can’t quite put his finger on it. He’s 2 for 7 in 8 games that were decided by 3 points. "In the past, I've prided myself and our team in...

Armed with a promise from his beloved defensive coordinator that he wouldn't retire without first informing his players, Ryan Clark threatened to avoid Dick LeBeau. Steelers Offensive & Defensive Snap Counts: Week 16 Bengals

Below are the initial week 16 offensive and defensive snap counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 loss Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals. On offense the running backs were all rotated into the game quite a bit outside of Chris Rainey. Jonathan Dwyer led the way with 23 snaps and was followed closely by Isaac Redman who had just 2 less. Rashard Mendenhall was back in action and...

Meast And Least for Week 16

The Sean Taylor Memorial Meast for Week 16 is Russell Okung, who kept Aldon Smith, who had 19.5 sacks coming into Sunday night’s game, from registering any sacks or quarterback hurries on Russell Wilson. Since Aldon Smith pledged earlier this month that for each sack he’s going to donate $5,099 to Bay Area Boys & Girls Clubs, it’s clear that Okung just hates children. Whatever...
