N.Y. vs. Seattle Betting?
Headline: Seattle Seahawks Look to Continue CenturyLink Dominance in Week 10 vs. Jets
The Seahawks will look to make it five-for-five on home turf this weekend when they welcome the New York Jets. The Jets have been one of the bigger disappointments in the NFL thus far – injuries and unflattering offensive play has them clinging to the remote chance of a playoff spot this year.
New York Jets (3-5) vs. Seattle Seahawks (5-4)
Date/Time: Sunday, November 11, 4:05 PM ET
Venue: CenturyLink Field
Jets vs. Seahawks Betting Lines from bovada
Spread: Seahawks -6 1/2 (-110)
Moneyline: Jets +240: Seahawks -285
Over/Under: 38 1/2 points
The Seahawks other the other hand are right in the thick of the NFC picture thanks to a sterling home record.
The Jets are coming off their bye week – something that was welcomed after four straight losses and a 30-9 home defeat last time out to division rivals – the Dolphins. The same pattern rang true in that game for this team – they were only able to generate 236 yards of total offense and nine points at home and the defense didn’t do a lot to slow Miami’s offense.
Presently, New York has the 25th ranked passing game and the 14th ranked running game. Shonn Greene has gotten much better over the past three but he will certainly have his work cut out for him against a Seattle run defense that has regressed a tad over the past three games but is still 11th in the NFL.
The Jets passing game has been a mess since Santonio Holmes went down with injury and frankly they weren’t all that great before the injury. Mark Sanchez and the passing attack is 25th in the NFL with an average of 207 yards per game. Mark Sanchez has completed just 52.9 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions while being sacked 18 times.
Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle running game should continue to roll.
Jeremy Kerley is the Jets leading receiver with 30 catches and two touchdowns and Dustin Keller and Chaz Schilens each have 16 catches – not all that impressive all things considered.
Could it be Tebow-time?
Defensively the Jets are allowing 25 points per game, 141.4 rushing yards (29th), and 205.6 passing yards (6th) with seven interceptions and 12 sacks. Stopping the run is crucial against Seattle and the Jets just don’t seem to have the personnel to get it done.
The Seattle Seahawks are a different team at home that’s for sure. 4-0 and completely dominant. Russell Wilson and the passing offense ranks second last in the NFL but have shown signs the last couple of weeks of breaking out. Wilson completed 16 of 24 throws for 173 yards and three touchdowns last week, Sidney Rice is rounding into form and Golden Tate is looking every bit like a big play threat.
Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle running game should continue to roll against the Jets 29th run defense. The Hawks are 7th in the NFL in rushing and Lynch ran for 124 yards with a touchdown last week against Minnesota – typical for what we can expect from the league’s second leading rusher.
Seattle’s defense has been strong all season long but they have been able to ramp it up at home with the help of the 12th man. The Hawks are 7th against the pass and 11th against the run and they allow the third fewest points in the NFL – just 17.11 per game.
Dave’s Won’t Cost You Anything Free NFL Betting Prediction:
• NY Jets are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games when playing Seattle
• The total has gone OVER in 18 of the NY Jets last 23 games on the road
• NY Jets are 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games on the road
• NY Jets are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games
• Seattle is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games at home
• The total has gone OVER in 8 of Seattle’s last 11 games at home
• The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Seattle’s last 9 games
• Seattle is 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games when playing NY Jets
The Jets are clearly a struggling team but they did have an extra week to prepare for this game. Because of the extra time, I think they will make life interesting for the Hawks this week. Rex Ryan is no dummy although he certainly looks like one! The Hawks should win but a field goal is the likely outcome. I like the Jets cover on Sunday but still go home with a bitter taste in their mouths.

The emergence of so many young quarterbacks in recent years has turned the National Football League into a "passing league".Or so say the experts and media outlets who cover the sport.Recent years have also shown that it is possible for teams with weak defenses to not only make it to the Super Bowl, but win it. Sometimes it seems like I'm watching the "Bizarro...
