Yesterday Raiders 101 went through some of the Oakland Raiders wide receivers who are sure to see the field and make an impact. With Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, and Jacoby Ford all solidified a roster spot, today we will look at the rest of the receiving corps battling for roster spots and some game snaps. Louis Murphy has been a contributing member of the Raiders receiving corps since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Florida. He burst onto the NFL scene as a rookie making 34 catches for 521 yards and four touchdowns. He followed up his first year campaign with another productive year. As a second year player, Murphy caught 41 for 609 and two touchdowns. Because of all the exciting new talent the Raiders brought in through the draft, Murphy started only one game last season and caught just 15 passes. A hamstring injury has kept him out of some organized team activities and workouts, which has left his roster spot in jeopardy. Murphy must ele...

Louis Murphy in danger of being cut by the Raiders

Getty Images According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy will have to “fight” for one of the two final receiver spots once training camp rolls around. With the emergence of Juron Criner and Rod Streater, Murphy will have to stand out during training camp.  He only had 15 receptions for 241 yards last season, after putting...

Tyvon Branch will likely get a long-term deal in Oakland

Getty Images Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com believes there’s a strong chance that the Oakland Raiders will end up signing safety Tyvon Branch to a long-term deal. “The Michael Griffin deal from last month, which took the Titans safety off the franchise tag, provides a pretty good template for Branch and the Raiders working something out,” wrote La Canfora. ”New GM Reggie...

Oakland Raiders Training Camp Competition: Tight Ends

One of the more interesting training camp battles that will take place for the Oakland Raiders will be at the tight end position. The release of last year's starter Kevin Boss, left a void at the position that will be won during training camp and preseason games. New offensive coordinator Greg Knapp uses a system that likes to feature the tight end. When he was with the Houston...

What’s up RaiderNation? It is a sad day indeed as I write this article.
