As the Raiders concluded their first week of training camp, the team practiced in front of fans for the third straight day. One less Raider was in attendance because the team waived nose tackle Travis Ivey before practice. On the other hand, cornerback Ron Bartell passed his physical and can now participate in team drills. Ivey has been out of practice for the first five days because of conditioning. Without the benefit of being in shape and on the field, Ivey has unable to show his skills and the team cut him. As for Bartell, he has been slowed by a hamstring injury and held out of the first five practices as well. However he passed his physical and now with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, will not be allowed to participate in contact drills for three days. “Yes, he was activated today,” Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said. “There’s a new three-day transition period, so today was day one on that transition period. Tomorrow he’ll be able to be out in non-contact situations...
