Found June 10, 2013 on Football Extra Points:
Almost as worthless as mock drafts are (draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. got only one draft pick right this year), spring and summer NFL season previews aren’t far behind.  As with mock drafts though, we need and love them even though they may not mean as much as we’d like.  Here is my preview for the upcoming 2013-14 NFL season for the Oakland Raiders        Quarterback The top three quarterbacks for the Raiders have a total of 3 NFL starts.  The Raiders will rely on Matt Flynn who has two of those starts.  Flynn was beaten out at Seattle last year by Wisconsin rookie Russell Wilson.  It still remains to be seen though if Flynn is a starting NFL QB.  Terrelle Pryor will back him up with rookie Tyler Wilson bringing up the rear. Grade:  D+   With no proven starting NFL QB, this is a huge question mark.  If Flynn isn’t the answer, the Raiders are in trouble.        Running back Darren McFadden is a really good running back when healthy.  The problem is he’s never

Raiders owner Mark Davis supports GM Reggie McKenzie after PR director fired

When Oakland Raiders owner mark Davis abruptly fired Public Relations Director Zak Gilbert, many close to the team saw it as a reminder to the rest of the staff that they're officially put on notice to shape up or ship out. Jobs could be in jeopardy, especially GM Reggie McKenzie's. Looks like Reggie can breath a little easier. Davis sat down with Monte Poole of the Bay...

Terrelle Pryor continues to look bad this offseason

As much as some Raiders fans want Terrelle Pryor to be their starting quarterback this season, I don’t see it happening.  During OTA’s he was very unimpressive and now during minicamp he’s still having trouble throwing the football. Terrelle Pryor continues to not show much improvement … wobbly, inaccurate passes — Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) June 11, 2013 You might think to...

Raiders’ passing offense isn’t doing so well

Tuesday was the first day of Raiders mandatory minicamp, so let’s check in on the offense to see how it’s doing. Terrelle Pryor throws a quick pass to a receiver that had no idea the ball was coming. Someone got the play wrong. — Steve Corkran (@CorkOnTheNFL) June 11, 2013 Flynn's throw for Moore, wide of the mark. Incomplete. — Steve Corkran (@CorkOnTheNFL) June 11...

Undrafted Rookie Wide Receiver Conner Vernon Will Have Big Impact for Oakland Raiders

It looks like Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has found another impact undrafted free agent this year in Conner Vernon. The 6-foot wide receiver out of Duke was the ACC’s all-time leader in both reception and receiving yards, which proves that Vernon has what it takes to become a go-to receiver. Vernon is also a high character guy who puts in his fair share...

Report: Josh Cribbs will be out until training camp

The Oakland Raiders signed kick returner/ wide receiver Josh Cribbs to a one year deal this offseason. Though he visited with many teams prior to the Raiders, he remained unsigned over a concern he would not be ready to play due to a knee injury. Looks like those teams were right because according to Vic Tafur, Cribbs is going to be out until at least training camp. Don’t recall...

Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor Is Working Hard but Needs to Show Improvement

The Oakland Raiders will have a new man under center for 2013 after dealing Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals. As the team completed the organized team activities, Matt Flynn is firmly entrenched as the starter. That leaves Terrelle Pryor on the outside, but working to improve. “Yeah, that’ll come with some in-game experience,” head coach Dennis Allen said of Pryor’s...

Raiders quarterbacks show struggles at minicamp

Batted balls. Wounded ducks. Interceptions. Passes into the turf. The Oakland Raiders opened their three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday with a passing offense that looks far from a finished product. From presumed starter Matt Flynn to the only returning quarterback Terrelle Pryor to rookie Tyler Wilson, none of the quarterbacks fighting to replace Carson Palmer as the starter...

Who Will Be The Starting Left Guard for Oakland Raiders?

OAKLAND RAIDERS Twitter Page (@raiders) One of the most interesting stories in Oakland Raiders training camp is who will win the battle to become the starting left guard. Two second-year players, Tony Bergstrom and Lucas Nix, will fight it out in Napa to become the starter. On paper, Bergstrom has the advantage because he was Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie’s first draft pick...

Pryor's OSU ring fetches $18,100

A piece of jewelry that helped bring unwanted NCAA scrutiny to the Ohio State football program has brought its most recent owner a windfall. A ring that appeared to be quarterback Terrelle Pryor's from the Buckeyes' 2008 Big Ten championship season sold on eBay for $18,000 Saturday. The ring bearing Pryor's name and an accompanying picture noted the team's 42-7...

Oakland Raiders Need Rookie Menelik Watson to Become Starting Right Tackle

When Reggie McKenzie passed on a defensive lineman with the second-round pick, many pundits were surprised but Florida State offensive tackle Menelik Watson does help improve the Oakland Raiders porous offensive line. Watson is an all-world athlete who has competed in Soccer, Basketball, and Boxing before picking up Football a few years ago. The Raiders right tackle play...

With the departures of Desmond Bryant, Richard Seymour and Tommy Kelly, Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Lamarr Houston will enter training camp as the elder statesman of the Raiders front seven. Not only will Houston be expected to take on a leadership role on the team, he is also expected to be the Raiders most important player on defense. On paper, the Raiders defensive...
