The Football Juice:
Breathe in and breathe out. Breathe in and breathe out. It’s hard to even think about the chaotic state the Oakland Raiders are in without having to take relaxing deep breaths. Oakland is one of the few teams that finished in third place in their division, but is in a much uglier situation than the one team they finished ahead of. If you are telling me that you would rather take the head coach or general manager position of the Raiders over the Chiefs for any reason other than “the challenge intrigues you,” you are absolutely nuts.

The Oakland Raiders will get to pick 3rd overall in the 2013 NFL draft, but with the immense depth of defensive linemen in this year’s draft; should the Raiders trade the 3rd pick to move down? The Raiders have a lot of needs including defensive tackles and defensive ends.
That happens to be the position most draft experts see the Raiders taking with the 3rd overall pick, but...

Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen indicated today that their plan is to have Carson Palmer as their starting quarterback going into 2013.
“That’s the plan. Carson had a really good year last year. Threw for over 4,000 yards,” said Allen, per Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com.
The Raiders are currently $2.4 million over the salary cap. If they release Palmer they will save...

Taiwain Jones has struggled to make his mark in the Raiders backfield in the two years he’s been with the team. Jones has the speed to excel at the position but it sorely lacks the size at 5-foot-10, 197 pounds and has struggled staying healthy. And he’s also been firmly in the shadows of Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson (even Marcel Reece) on the depth chart.
But now Jones is...
Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie mentioned that they will ask RB Taiwan Jones to move to cornerback next season, per Bill Williamson.
“I’m pushing for cornerback,” said McKenzie. “I think it fits his skill set. I think we’re going to see how he does there.”
It’s worth noting that Jones actually played some corner while at Eastern Washington, so the position isn’t...

Twitter almost exploded this morning after Omar Kelly, a reporter for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel made claims that Dez Bryant of the Cowboys had been arrested early this morning.

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Oakland Raiders are considering releasing DT Tommy Kelly.
Kelly, 32, signed a seven-year, $50.125 million contract back in 2008. He has base salaries of $6.5 million in 2013 and another $7 million in 2014. As things stand right now, his 2013 cap number is $4.8 million, so it would make sense for the Raiders to free up some...
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders will attempt to restructure QB Carson Palmer‘s contract that will pay him $13 million for the 2013 season.
Schefter adds this move could be similar to what the Eagles did with Michael Vick in recent weeks.
Oakland is still trying to get their financial situation under control, so it makes plenty of sense that they would approach...
