Found August 09, 2012 on Football Nation:
The Oakland Raiders are going to face many tough tasks over the course of the 2012 season. Among those include executing new offensive and defensive schemes from rookie head coach Dennis Allen, and a tough three game stretch from weeks 10-12 where they will face three playoff teams from 2011 (at Baltimore, New Orleans and at Cincinnati). However, the biggest home game of the 2012 season for the Raiders will be featured on Thursday Night Football on the NFL Network against the Denver Broncos. On December 6th, kicking of the 14th week of the regular season, new Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning will get his first taste of how the familiar rivalry is treated in the Black Hole. Coach Allen will host the Broncos in Oakland for the first time since coming from Denver as their defensive coordinator. The two teams will have already met in Denver in Week 4, but the Raiders will be looking for redemption of a Week 9 loss last season that saw a second half comeback from Tim Tebow. En...

Peyton Manning shows promise, defense shows more in Broncos’ 31-3 rout of Bears

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning throws before the Broncos' 2012 preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. The Broncos routed the Bears 31-3 in Manning's Broncos debut. (Andrew Mason/MaxDenver.com) The hit everyone was waiting for never happened. Left tackle Ryan Clady would rather be penalized than see Peyton Manning get zinged during the Denver Broncos‘ first preseason...

Peyton Manning 4 for 7 1 Int Is That What The Broncos Paid For? You Bet

People are a buzz today after seeing the legendary Peyton Manning re-appear in the N.F.L.. Manning only played one series and threw the ball seven times moving his Broncos from their own 38 yard line 50 yards down to the Bears 12. Manning looked like he was going to get his team into the end-zone until Broncos receiver Brandon Stokley deflected the pass  and it was intercepted...

Manning's receivers not up to speed yet

The 10-snap cameo appearance that Peyton Manning made in his return to the field on Thursday night demonstrated that the four-time Most Valuable Player hasn't lost his sense of timing or his feel on short and intermediate routes. But it did show that the Denver wide receivers still have some work to do in matching Manning's nonpareil precision, even after a summer of working...

Peyton Manning Goes 4-of-7 in Preseason Debut

In his Broncos debut, quarterback Peyton Manning completed four of seven passes for 44 yards and an interception.Fantasy Spin:Manning's interception wasn't really his fault as the ball fell through his receiver's hands before Chicago safety Major Wright reeled it in on the deflection. Don't expect Manning to get too many reps during Denver's exhibition slate as...

Manning glad first game is out of the way

Baby steps, not giant leaps. That's how Peyton Manning is marking his comeback. So, he was glad to get his first game in 19 months out of the way and use it as a building block. Manning was uneven in Denver's exhibition opener at Chicago on Thursday night even though he didn't have to contend with Julius Peppers or Brian Urlacher and had plenty of time to throw. His...

John Elway Says Peyton Manning Needs Two More Rings to Be the Best Ever

I think John Elway is subliminally saying that Manning isn’t better than him until he gets two more rings. I see you John you aren’t fooling me. Trying to motivate the older Manning. In Elway’s opinion, if Manning were to close out his career by winning two Super Bowls as the Broncos’ quarterback — the same way Elway closed out his own Hall of Fame career — that would...

Peyton Hits The Field

I’m back Juan… Peyton Manning was back in action for the first time in a long time and he looked pretty decent as he knocked the rust off. He only showed off his arm on a 19 yard gain to Eric Decker (my favorite Broncos WR this season), but he was picked off in the redzone on a ball he threw behind Stokely. I will have to see more to give him a full endorsement, but this was...

NFC East Quarterback Rankings: Manning, Romo, or Vick?

Time for the first part of our position-by-position NFC East analysis and rankings! We'll be starting with quarterbacks. There is no single factor that will make or break any of the candidates-- they will be assessed based on the five grading criteria below. Note that RGIII will not be rated due to the fact that he has yet to prove himself on an NFL level. BIG PLAY ABILITY...

Broncos beat out Olympic ratings once again

During the Olympics, NBC routinely airs promos for the 2012 NFL season and Sunday Night Football on NBC. On Thursday night, the Denver Broncos opened the preseason with a 31-3 win over the Chicago Bears.  The game, televised locally on KTVD-Channel 20, drew better ratings than the Olympic games on Channel 9. Per the Denver Post‘s Joanne Ostrow — From 6:30-9:45 p.m. Thursday...

Flaw in Super Bowl Contenders

No team is without its flaw. Join us as we take a look at the fatal flaw that might cost 5 contenders a shot at Super Bowl glory. New York Giants: Questionable Running Game The Giants ranked 32nd (last in the league) in run production last season. Part of that was due to Pro Bowler Amhad Bradshaw’s foot injury, which caused him to miss four games. Their passing game actually improved...

I’ll Be Damned, It’s Sexy Friday

The preseason is in full swing, so football is kind of quasi-back-esque, as PK would say. Despite the horrendous scab officiating, it was still great to sift through a slate of six games last night, at least for an hour or so, until everyone on the field were unrecognizable future victims of the turk. RGIII looked competent, prompting the inevitable hysteria on the part of Redskins...
