In the beginning of the game against the Washington Redskins, Oakland had the lead until the third quarter due to the Redskins’ disastrous offensive performance. What was the turning point in the game that caused the Redskins to overturn the Raiders? Washington’s defense picked up the slack of their offense, resulting in an ending score of Washington 24, Oakland 14.
How did quarterback Matt Flynn perform during his third career start? The Raiders were up 14-0 in the first quarter thanks to Flynn. He had a blocked punt touchdown and a scoring pass which made the rest of the game seem promising for Oakland.

So what happened? Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III performed miserably in the first quarter, but somehow the Washington defense managed to shut down the Raiders for the rest of the game. How did Oakland lose such a lead over the less than extraordinary Washington Redskins, who had no victories until this...

It also looks like Raiders second string quarterback Matt Flynn lost his backup job to matt McGloin.

Seems like Dennis Allen really wasn’t happy with the way Flynn played last week for him to lose his back up job after one game as the starter in place of Terrelle...
Yesterday’s debacle proved that Matt Flynn is nothing more than a terrible backup quarterback. I called for Flynn’s release after his atrocious performance in the third preseason game and I am still calling for his release now. Everyone should write ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski a letter of apology after most members of the Raider Nation ridiculed Jaworski after he called Flynn the...
It’s hard to fathom that Terrelle Pryor has become the heart and soul of the Oakland Raiders after just three starts this season. While Pryor’s detractors have continued to say that Pryor does not have an NFL caliber arm or pocket poise, Pryor has shown that he is capable of being a solid quarterback in this league. What makes Pryor’s performance this year so remarkable...
Raiders HC Dennis Allen announced on Wednesday that undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin will take over as the team’s backup quarterback behind Terrelle Pryor.
“It is what it is. It didn’t work out,” Allen said, via Vic Tafur.
As if things couldn’t possibly get worse for Matt Flynn, he’s now lost a job for the third time in less than two years.
Allen basically threw...
How did Matt Flynn get a $20 million contract? Flynn has no pocket awareness and reads a defense as if they were playing with braille. QB Terrelle Pryor's job security skyrocketed in the wake of Flynn's performance.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen made it official Wednesday: rookie Matt McGloin is now the Raiders backup quarterback and Matt Flynn is No. 3. Re Flynn: “It is what it is. It didn’t work out” Allen said.
Flynn making $6.5 million guaranteed this year was brought in by general manager Reggie McKenzie to be the starting quarterback and was beaten out by Terrelle Pryor in the preseason...
Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was asked if he thought about benching Matt Flynn for Matt McGloin during the game.
“Not really. I just didn’t feel like that was a better option. I think Matt Flynn was our best option to give us a chance and we didn’t play well enough,” said Allen, per Raiders.com.
Allen says the sacks that Flynn gave up hurt them.
“Obviously, I don’t...
The Oakland Raideres will have Terrelle Pryor under center for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
“He is symptom-free, so he’s clear,” head coach Dennis Allen said on Wednesday.
The Raiders have also moved Matt Flynn, who started last week, to third string promoting undrafted rookie Matt McGloin to the backup role.

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor will start this week after missing last week’s game with a concussion.

This is certainly great news after last week’s loss to the Redskins. You would have to imagine that if Pryor played, the...
Terrelle Pryor is symptom-free and will start Sunday night’s Week 5 game against the Chargers. I am exited for Pryor, because he has been pretty surprising this year. Pryor will lead the Raiders into their 11:35 game against the Chargers which will be aired on the NFL Network. Pryor has been putting up at least 18 […]
Oakland is home to a playoff team, not the Raiders but the A’s who will need the O.co stadium for their playoff game. The game will require a configuration back to a football facility and thus the delay.

Richard Seymour had football on his mind during the weekend but it wasn’t focused on the Patriots against the Falcons. It was focused on Georgia-LSU.
While the team he helped win three Super Bowls was in town to face the Falcons on Sunday night only a few miles from his home Seymour was in Athens hollering for his ninth-ranked alma mater which beat sixth-ranked LSU 44-41 in a...
The Chicago Bears (3-1) are looking to improve their situation at the punter position following a rough performance by Adam Podlesh in the team’s 40-32 loss to the Detroit Lions (3-1). Podlesh, 30, averaged 28.8 yards on his five punts on Sunday and helped gift Detroit with great field position when he hit a line drive right to Lions returner Michael Spurlock, who took off for...
The playoffs in Major League Baseball will be starting this week and one NFL team is already impacted. According to the Oakland Raiders official team site, the Raiders have moved the kickoff of their game back seven hours in order to accommodate the conversion from a baseball stadium on Saturday while the A’s host a game to a football stadium on Sunday.
