After suffering a concussion against the Denver Broncos on Monday night, Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has not been cleared to practice with the team yet. But the good news for Raiders fans is that the 24-year-old signal-caller has been cleared for physical activity. So far this season, Pryor has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 624 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also run for 198 yards on 26 carries. But the Ohio State product has looked to be steadily improving under center, so this concussion came at a terrible time. The Raiders remain optimistic that Pryor will be ready in time to start against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. If he returns to practice on a limited basis on Thursday or Friday then it would be smart to assume he’ll play this week. If not, Matt Flynn will fill in for him. Pryor was crushed between Denver’s Danny Trevathan and Wesley Woodyard on Monday night while running a quarterback draw. He claimed he didn’t remember getting hit on the play, which was definitely a bad sign. But if he progresses through the NFL’s concussion protocol quickly then he should be fine for Sunday. If Pryor does get the green light to go, he should be a really nice fantasy football fill-in if you have Aaron Rodgers or Cam Newton, who are both on byes this week. Meanwhile, the NFLPA is investigating whether or not Pryor’s concussion was handled correctly. After taking the big hit, he was allowed to return to the game before being pulled. Pryor was apparently not examined for a concussion on the sidelines after the hit and the NFLPA wants to know why.
