FINALLY!!!!!!!! This is such a bias article to produce my own agenda but hey its still sports news.
I don’t know who spoke some sense into my Panthers, but we are finally filling out our WR spots. Yahoo Sports reports that Louis Murphy has been traded to the Panther but details of the trade have not been disclosed.
With three seasons with the Raiders, Murphy caught 90 balls for 1,371 yards and six touchdowns. He started just one game in 2011, catching 15 passes for 241 yards and zero touchdowns.
Newton is even familiar with murphy since they were both teammates in Florida before Newton transferred. Im sure under the wings of Steve Smith, Murphy can shape up to be what they so desperately need, another weapon to secure their offense.

The Oakland Raiders have officially announced that they have traded Louis Murphy to the Carolina Panthers. The transaction, which was first reported this morning by Yahoo’s Jason Cole via Twitter, sends Oakland’s top wide receiver in 2009 and 2010 to the NFC South in exchange for a “conditional draft pick.” Neither team has disclosed the [...]
Second-year quarterback Cam Newton will be among the participants at the Carolina Panthers' three-day rookie camp, which starts Monday, the Charlotte Observer reported. Although Newton is not coming off an injury and is not a rookie, he will attend the camp so he can begin working with the Panthers' rookie receivers. "That'll give us a chance to get those guys...
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton proved his critics wrong last season, showing that he could be an elite NFL quarterback despite just one year at a major college program.
Now the question is can he get his team to the playoffs? It's hard to bet against him.
The No. 1 pick in the 2011 draft burst onto the scene in last year's season opener by throwing for 422 yards...
“After investigating all the procedures and all the chain of events it appears not everything was done according to the rule of law, and there may be some questions that need to go before a jury.” This was a statement from Ivan Golde, Darrius Heyward-Bey’s attorney, just under a month ago after a pre-trial hearing [...]
Trade for Panthers: The Panthers were busy today, trading a conditional late round pick for Louis Murphy and then trading Jeff Otah for a conditional late round pick to the Jets (no word yet if those two are the same conditional late round picks). Otah was once one of the best right tackles in the game, but he’s played just 4 games over the last 2 seasons due to a variety of injuries...
The uniforms are the same familiar silver and black the Oakland Raiders have worn for decades. The roster contains the fastest collection of players in the NFL. And the offense features a quarterback who wants to throw the ball deep.
Those are just some of the many familiar standards that still exist as the Raiders head to their first training camp since death of owner and architect...
According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the Oakland Raiders have traded wide receiver Louis Murphy to the Carolina Panthers.
The Raiders are loaded with young talent at the receiver position and Murphy didn’t have a great year in 2011 after only recording 15 receptions for 241 yards.
We don’t know what the Raiders have received in compensation just yet. I would...
The Raiders have traded wide receiver Louis Murphy to the Panthers in the second trade between the teams in four months, according to multiple reports. What Oakland received in return wasn't immediately known. Murphy has 90 career receptions for 1,371 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons since being a fourth-round pick out of Florida. However, he posted career lows of...
NFL.com’s Michael Lombardi made some noise today by casually referencing that the Panthers would be switching to a 3-4 defense this season in a season preview. This came as a big surprise to many because Lombardi is pretty well regarded and there had been no mention of the Panthers doing such a thing by any of their beat writers or coaches this offseason. The potential move did...
Right tackle Jeff Otah was acquired by the Jets, who sent an undisclosed conditional draft pick to Carolina. Otah was a first-round pick by the Panthers in 2008, and was viewed as one of the best young right tackles in the game. He helped pave the way for running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart to become the first teammates in NFL history to each run for more than...
BustedCoverage.com posted a video via BlackSportsOnline.com of former Hall of Fame NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice doing the Dougie at the Harrah’s Tahoe American Century Golf Championship after party.
Check out the video below. Rice comes into the picture at the 1:15 mark.
The Panthers finally gave up on former first round pick Jeff Otah on Monday, agreeing to a deal that would send the oft-injured offensive lineman to the New York Jets for a conditional seventh-round pick.
