A major concern for the Washington Redskins entering this season was the health of its offensive line - an area in which the Redskins have little proven depth. On Sunday afternoon that unit took a hit, losing starting right guard Randy Thomas to a right triceps injury in the second quarter. Thomas left the game with the injury early in the quarter and did not return. He was replaced in the lineup by third-year guard Will Montgomery (Centreville/Virginia Tech). Entering the season, Thomas' healthy was cause for concern for an offensive line that tailed off late last season as they wore down and struggled with injuries. Thomas, 33, had two offseason surgeries - one for a neck injury and the other on his knee - and the Redskins were cautious with Thomas in the preseason and training camp in hopes of keeping him fresh.
