1. Wide Receiver It’s starting to look like the Pittsburgh Steelers will let Mike Wallace sign elsewhere, opening up a hole in their receiving corps. Ben Roethlisberger has asked for a tall receiver in the past and instead was given Wallace (6’0″), Antonio Brown (5’10″) and Emmanuel Sanders (5’11″). This is a deep class of receivers, making it the perfect time for the Steelers to finally grant Big Ben his wish. 2. Outside Linebacker James Harrison turns 35 in May is only a shell of his former self. The Steelers may chose to save some money and cut him loose this offseason. Jason Worilds will be first in line for his starting job, but some depth is needed. 3. Offensive Line The Steelers continue to surround Ben Roethlisberg with one of the league’s worst offensive line. As he enters his 10th year in the league, protecting him becomes even more important. Max Starks and Ramon Foster are unrestricted free agent who may be let go. The Steelers may do some reshuffling of the line, so it’s tough to say which positions need to be filled, but they definitely need to address the situation.

Can The Steelers Squeeze One More Season Out Of Brett Keisel?

When you look at the defensive players in the NFL that turned 34 years or older last year you see a list of 26 of them. 3 of those 26 were Pittsburgh Steelers and they of course were Casey Hampton, James Harrison and Brett Keisel. Hampton is of course an unrestricted free agent this offseason and the only chance that he has to return to Pittsburgh would be if he agreed to a one...

James Harrison Plays Dodgeball While He Awaits Word From The Steelers

According to Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison and his agent have yet to be asked to restructure his contract or take a pay cut with less than four weeks to go until the new league starts. “There is nothing going on," said Harrison's agent, Bill Parise, via the report by Robinson. "(If there's anything...

Steelers That Are Candidates To Have Their Contracts Extended

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert mentioned that contract extensions for a few players might be in the works as part of the process to getting the team salary cap compliant by March 12, the start of the new league year. We will now have a look at a few players that the organization may or may not be considering to extend. Ben Roethlisberger - Roethlisberger is the...

Is Rashard Mendenhall Still an Option for the Steelers?

The Steelers are heading into the off-season with multiple holes to fill, but one of the most important positions they need to address is running back. Pittsburgh has spent multiple draft picks in the last three drafts on the offensive line in hopes of protecting Ben Roethlisberger and opening lanes in the running game. Now with a young offensive line and a new blocking scheme there...

James Harrison now playing dodgeball

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison announced tonight that he signed with a new team.  No not an NFL team,  a dodgeball team called the “Ball Busters.” Signed a one year deal earlier today and its not with the Steelers. I’ll be playing with a new team starting tonight! — James Harrison (@jharrison9292) February 14, 2013 Some Steelers fans overreacted and thought...

Grading the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Round-by-Round Value in the 2007 and 2008 NFL Drafts

The world changed rapidly in 2007 and 2008. Facebook and Twitter were becoming household words, the U.S. economy went into the dumper and the Pittsburgh Steelers had their first new coach in 15 years. The Steelers also won their sixth Super Bowl during this time. Mike Tomlin won the Super Bowl in his second season as coach, faster than both Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher. It shouldn’t...

Steelers Hire Richard Mann as Wide Receivers Coach

The Steelers have named Richard Mann as their new wide receiver coach according to multiple sources on Twitter. Mann has not coached in the NFL since the 2009 season. He worked on the same staff as Mike Tomlin in Tampa Bay and is an Aliquippa native. As Mark Kaboly reported on Twitter Mann has been working with players preparing them for the NFL Draft. That is a good sign since...

DiMarino: Steelers Mock Draft 2013 Version 1.0

By Christopher DiMarino The NFL combine is coming up so I figured I might as well throw my thoughts out there now. The combine will have a drastic effect on not only the prediction of where players will fall, but also the justification for their selection. Before I get into the actual picks, I will review each of the big 5 positions and address who I like in what rounds to justify...

Steelers faced with tough offseason decisions

Already strapped by the salary cap the Pittsburgh Steelers have a number of tough decisions to make. Last season we saw a number of familiar names change uniforms from the iconic black and yellow and it may be no different this time. The Steelers could lose six starters from week one of the 2012 NFL season and may cut another two. Max Starks OT, Ramon Foster G, Mike Wallace WR,...

WFNY Podcast – 2013-02-15 – @SteelersDepot talking Browns and the rest of the AFC North

Dave from @SteelersDepot was a stud guest on the podcast even if he did defend James Harrison’s hitting style. Dude is prolific, informed and generally about as knowledgeable as anyone I’ve talked NFL with in my life. I haven’t talked to him since the NFL season ended, so I tracked him down to talk about the Browns, the AFC North, the intricacies of NFL finance, and a whole...

Everyone PSAMP Has Nominated For Pope

Ok so Twitter finally rolled out downloadable Twitter archives for most everyone after testing it with smaller groups. And with that comes everyone going through their old, now-insignificant quips and attaching some sort of memory or weight to any given 15-20 words. I've done it. Man, I'm lucky to have seen multiple Steelers Super Bowls and a Pens Stanley Cup during my Twitter...

Report: Steelers Afraid Mike Wallace Will Sign With Cleveland

The Pittsburgh Steelers made their choice of which receiver they wanted when they gave Antonio Brown a long term deal last summer.  The Steelers will now allow Wallace to walk and deal with the consequences of where he lands, but according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Wallace may not walk that far to a new team. The Browns have about $30 million in space and will be big...

Potential Free Agent Target For The Browns

Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland writes that with over $40 million in available cap space, the Browns could be players in this year’s free agent market.
