It defies logic—the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles have been able to overcome nine turnovers in two games to secure wins and and move to 2-0 record to start the 2012 season. Pulling off this rare feat has been dificult—a single point secured the victory in both games, the first time this has happened in successive contests in NFL history. But as we know, a win is a win, and Philadelphia currently holds the lead in the NFC East.
I’ll take it.
The Eagles defense has done an incredible job covering for the mistakes of the offense, which has done much to quell the question marks about the “D” that were a focal point this offseason. The upgrades that the team made this spring and summer—the drafting of players already making a significant impact on the defense like Mychal Kendricks and Brandon Boykin as well as the huge move of acquiring MIKE linebacker DeMeco Ryans from Houston are already paying dividends.
