Ok, I said I liked Celek alot

But with Ingram doing so well and learning quickly Celek may be in trouble.. Now I'm positive that Celek has the TE position this year but if he doesnt "break-out" and make a major major impact in both the run and the passing game then come 2010-2011 season he may be in a world of trouble.. I personally like Celek, he is a good pass catching TE and he suits our offense so well, plus he made key plays throughout the playoffs last year. But Ingram is an athlete and is supposedly working hard to prove he can block at the NFL level, thats the only knock against Celek. He just has trouble blocking, and if Ingram can do everything Celek can and block then its only a matter of time... I for one am happy that we have both of them and now I dont know who im going to pull for since I like both of them... Tell me what you think.

  • I like Celeck a lot! That's why I wasn't mad when we passed up that Tight end in the first round( I can't remember his name). I couldn't believe how well he played last year. It was nice to see him perform, and not have to worry about LJ Smith NOT bringing it! With the addition of Ingram.... I think we are set for awhlie at that position. There was a article on CSN Philly.com that stated Celeck pretty much lived at the Nova Care Complex in the offseason. He's been studying, and working out, and more importantly... He's been working with coaches on his blocking skills. And from all accounts the Eagles are impressed with Ingrams willness to get better at blocking as well. Let's give them time to Marinate! They are young! And we are lucky to have them both! Can anyone say Two Tight-end Set ?!?!?!?! Are they blocking... receiving???? This could be the start of a really good thing!!! But let's not get ahead of ourselves.... They still have to play the game. Right now it looks good on paper!!!!
  • oh thanks, I havent heard of that site before and havent seen that article but thanks for the info... I would like to see the two tight end set It would be great... And the only TE's i really wanted were Ingram and Grisome(?) the one from OU, he was a stud he could catch and block and was suppose to be better than pettigrew(the guy you were thinking of)..
  • Celek's job is safe for at least this year. Also, no two tight end sets. It's just not Reid's game.
  • well when has he had two good TE's to put on the feild?
  • He's had LJ Smith! HA! HA! just kidding. He's the Falcons problems now!
  • L.J is on the Ravens. Tony Gonzales is on the Falcons. No matter.. haha. Ingram has showed some growth over the OTA's and it's not a fair assessment that Igram CAN'T block or isn't "any good" at it. It was just assumed since he came from a spread offense in college. I've said it before, Ingram reminds me of Shannon Sharpe. They both had similar styles in college and both were heavily used as a large slot receiver. If Ingram is anywhere near that talent Shannon Sharpe was, we are in for one of the most explosive offenses we've ever seen in Philly. We shall see..
