OL Rob Turner suffered a broken leg in the team’s preseason loss on Monday night to the Texans and could miss up to 10 weeks, a source told the New York Daily News.
Turner suffered the injury in the first quarter, after Texans rookie DE J.J. Watt took down Jets QB Mark Sanchez and rolled into Turner, who was playing center. The injury will require surgery, according to the Daily News, and keep Turner on the sidelines for 8-10 weeks.
Turner was expected to be the team’s backup center as well as the sixth lineman in jumbo packages, so the Jets are now in need of more depth on their offensive line.
