There are plenty of reasons to love the Brandon Marshall trade, Marshall's production as a receiver is among the best in the NFL.  Marshall's production has been consistent since he entered the league his receptions and receiving yards are among the best in the league.  There's no question that Marshall is at best among the best five receivers in the league at worst top-10.

However there is a weakness to Marshall's game, something that shouldn't be overlooked given need for the Bears to score.  Marshall is not among the best receivers at getting into the end-zone.  His lack of red-zone production is alarming given a player of his size and stature.  Marshall is a tall receiver with decent enough speed to put six on the board early and often.  During his career however Marshall has gone over 10 touchdowns in a season only once.

Even with Marshall's four touchdown performance in the Pro Bowl, it's simple a fact that that was an exhibition game akin to the NBA All-Star game.  Marshall put on a show, a show he's never been able to duplicate on the field in a game that mattered.  In fact over the last two seasons Marshall has not had a game where he has caught more than one touchdown in a game.  These types of stats are alarming when it comes the need for a big game breaking receiver.

Yes Marshall has a ton yards and a ton receptions, but the lack of touchdowns is disconcerting.  Is the argument that Marshall's lack of touchdown production due to QB issues in Miami and then in the past with Denver?  That's a fair question, but given his consistent yardage, and receptions numbers the question is why can't he do more to put points on the board?
