Found December 09, 2012 on Checkdown Chatter:
Per multiple sources including Jason LaCanfora on twitter Tim Tebow is active today for the Jets. Tebow has been the second man on the Jets depth chart all year; so, maybe it was a ‘can’t lose your spot due to injury’ piece; maybe Rex Ryan thinks he’s their best backup quarterback; or maybe it was a marketing ploy by Woody Johnson and/or NFL higherups; either way, McElroy doesn't get a jersey today.

Preview: Jets (5-7) @ Jaguars (2-10)

This week the Jets travel to Tim Tebow's hometown to play the Jaguars, unfortunately for the legion of Tebow supporters who undoubtedly wanted to line up to watch him play quarterback, equally unfortunate for many Jet fans that Greg McElroy won't be getting the start either, as you know, since it's all that anyone has talked about the entire week, Mark Sanchez will remain...

Tim Tebow makes awkward TiVo ad

Despite being a backup quarterback on a team with a terrible starting quarterback, Tim Tebow is still one of the most talked about people in America. People love Tebow so much that ESPN devoted 99.99999% of its programming this year to focusing on whether or not the former Florida Gator could turn the Jets around, how his All-American persona could co-exist with the bullseye media...

Flight Delayed: Why The New York Jets Need To Start Greg McElroy Over Mark Sanchez

The New York Jets have found themselves in a rather familiar situation throughout the 2012 season.  They are making headlines.  The Rex Ryan era has been full of promises, successes, disappointments, and turmoil.  The last three plus years in New York have been nothing short of a media frenzy, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. Last Sunday, Rex Ryan chose to...

Playoffs? Rex, surging Jets won't talk postseason

Those big, bold playoff guarantees from Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are a thing of the past. Despite his team winning two straight games and putting itself right in the postseason mix, the Jets coach refuses to speak about anything except for New York's next opponent: the Tennessee Titans next Monday night. Ryan says Monday that he has learned from previous seasons to tone...

Tebow listed as questionable for Sunday

Backup quarterback Tim Tebow practiced on a restricted basis this week and was questionable on the injury report for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. Tebow could be a game-time decision on whether his injured ribs are healed enough to back up starter Mark Sanchez. He sat out last week's game against Arizona when Greg McElroy replaced Sanchez and led a touchdown drive...

ESPN president pulls back network's Tim Tebow obsession

Yesterday, ESPN President John Skipper was named Sports Business Journal's most influential executive in sports.  While that's an impressive footnote to his resume, Skipper has done something infinitely more important and influential.  He's done something previously thought impossible except for an act of God or the coming of the endtimes... or both. John Skipper...

Stevie Johnson Expected To Play

Buffalo wide receiver Stevie Johnson (hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Rams. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBSSports.comFantasy Spin:Johnson is a middling wide receiver play this week, as he could be slowed by hamstring tightness. St. Louis has been underrated against wide receivers, allowing 18 fantasy points per game to the position in standard formats (ninth best...

Pity the New York Jets: Reid latest with swipe

The New York Jets and their quarterback controversy have turned into Washington's political football. In August, President Barack Obama questioned the Jets' decision to acquire Tim Tebow when they had quarterback Mark Sanchez, who had led the team to the playoffs two years in a row. Then this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took a swipe at Republicans in the midst...

AFC East: Mark Sanchez And Shonn Greene Help Jets Keep Hope Alive

In another ugly game, the Jets maintain their wildcard hopes. Bills lose at home to the Rams. Dolphins fall to the 49ers.

Bengals fail to capitalize on Steelers loss; AFC wildcard race constricting

The Pittsburgh Steelers were dominated by the San Diego Chargers today, but the Bengals, who were tied with the Steelers for the last playoff spot coming into the game, couldn't capitalize, losing to the Cowboys after leading most of the game. With the losses by the Steelers and the Bengals, the Jets are suddenly right back in the wildcard race, just a game back with three...

Jets beat Jaguars 17-10 keeping their playoff hopes alive

The New York Jets (6-7) beat the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11) 17-10, yesterday afternoon at EverBank Field from Jacksonville, FL. The Running game wins for the Jets as they kept rushing the football downfield and let Mark Sanchez play as a manageable QB. It was obvious Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano had no faith in Mark Sanchez so they just kept running the football for most of the game...

Report: Jets Nearly Traded For WR Braylon Edwards

Jason La Canfora reports that the New York Jets were interested in trading completing a trade with Seahawks for former WR Braylon Edwards. During the early stages of the season, the Jets were reportedly interested in making a deal with the Seahawks for Edwards after they lost Santonio Holmes for the season. Seattle, however, was not willing to let Edwards go for a mere late-round...

Initial Reaction – Ugly But Winning Football, Jets Move To 6-7

It has been far from pretty but the New York Jets have won two games in a row and three of their last four after today’s 17-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Somehow they remain relevant in the AFC Playoff picture for the final wild-card spot, thanks to losses from both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals today. The Jets have fully embraced their 2009 style of...
