Please forgive me if this is a repeat of anything already posted or discussed but I’m new to the site and this is my first offering. This is something I’m sure has been discussed often but has bothered me since the past training camp and I’m glad I finally have a venue to vent.
I think it is time the Steelers open their eyes to the fact that Mike Wallace isn’t the talent they initially anticipated and his lack of polished receiving skill is more hurtful than his speed is helpful. I’ve never been impressed by his hands, almost never catching balls out in front of him, instead always letting it come to his body. His production is almost entirely due to his speed, which has allowed him to get behind the secondary to catch well placed balls on most occasions by Ben, because as we’ve seen outside of a few exceptions, Wallace doesn’t make the tough catch or expend the extra effort needed to catch the off target pass.
