Found December 12, 2012 on Oregon Sports News:
It's finally time to get out all those #23 San Francisco 49ers jerseys that Oregon Duck fans bought this past summer. It took a pair of unfortunate injuries and a social media outburst from a teammate, but former University of Oregon running back, LaMichael James, now finds himself in the number two running back slot for the San Francisco 49ers. After being drafted in the third round of last April's NFL draft, James had yet to see any playing time thirteen weeks into the 2012-13 NFL season. He was able to record 13 carries for 63 yards and a pair of receptions during the preseason, but hadn't even dressed for a regular season game until this past weekend. A spot on the game day roster opened up for James two weeks ago when running back Kendall Hunter and receiver/return specialist Kyle Williams were both hurt on the same play against the New Orleans Saints. Both players were then placed on injured reserve and ruled out for the season as Hunter tore his Achi...

Randy Moss: Colin Kaepernick throws so hard he dislocated my finger

Colin Kaepernick had made a lot of plays with his legs for the San Francisco 49ers, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t throw. Not only has he completed more than 67% of his passes this season, but Kaepernick is also capable of putting some zip on the ball and sticking it into tight spots. Randy Moss said that is the reason he recently suffered the first dislocated finger...

Moss likes his experience with 49ers this season

For future Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Randy Moss, his return to the NFL after a year away has been largely a good experience despite the fact that he's not a primary target on a team that hasn't thrown the ball much. Through 13 games, Moss has 21 catches for 326 yards and a pair of scores. On Sunday, he'll return to Foxborough, Mass., to play against a coach, Bill Belichick...

49ers receiver Randy Moss praises Kaepernick and Belichick

Wide Receiver Randy Moss is a veteran’s veteran.  He is also a student of the game of football. I would dare to say that upon his retirement as a player, it would not be a shock to watch Moss rise through the coaching ranks to become an eventual offensive coordinator. Moss recently sat down  and discussed his feelings about the rise of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and...

A close friend of running back Brandon Jacobs told the New York Daily News that he was trying to get released by the 49ers in hopes of re-signing with the Giants. Preview: 49ers vs Patriots

It’s been two weeks since the San Francisco 49ers officially went with quarterback Colin Kaepernick as their full-time starter over Alex Smith. Since then, the team is 1-1 and Kaepernick has received mixed reviews. Despite more pure talent than Smith and a bigger arm, the offense hasn’t been as explosive as it initially was when he took over several weeks ago, and the hype has...

Over the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers improved their record to 9-3-1 with a 27-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins. 49ers running back Frank Gore accounted for 64 yards and a touchdown in the win but Frank's play on the field might have been overshadowed by his choice of wardrobe after the game. Check out this picture of Gore wearing a "dead Miami Dolphins logo...

Brady, like Kaepernick, once replaced injured QB

Tom Brady was in a similar position 11 years ago to the spot Colin Kaepernick is in now. Both were second-year quarterbacks replacing successful veterans. On Sunday night, Brady leads the New England Patriots against Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers in a matchup of division leaders. The Patriots (10-3) have clinched the AFC East title, while the 49ers (9-3-1) can lock up the...

Big win vs Houston, but even bigger test ahead

With a big win for the now 10-3 Patriots on Monday night, they face a tougher test this week with the 9-3-1 San Francisco 49ers coming to town. The 49ers are a different test for the Patriots and with a win they will prove to be the real deal. The 49ers have a tougher and more physical defense than Houston's. But they do not have the explosive offense that the Texans have...

Niners need offense to keep pace with Pats

Stoically stone-faced and tight-lipped as is his style, Colin Kaepernick showed little emotion and gave concise answers Wednesday regarding the 49ers’ impending showdown with the New England Patriots. Kaepernick will have a lot more to say with his play when he gets on the field Sunday, and how San Francisco’s starting QB and the offense he directs performs that night could determine...

Gore, James solid 1-2 punch in 49ers' run game

Frank Gore quickly gave credit to rookie LaMichael James for an impressive NFL debut - and for taking some pressure off the three-time Pro Bowler in the process. Anthony Dixon is doing his part for San Francisco, too. The 49ers' versatile running game showed its depth in Sunday's 27-13 victory against Miami, with Gore leading the way en route to his sixth career 1,000-yard...
