New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora started out the season by demanding that the Giants either give him a new contract or trade him. Now he looks back and is happy that he ended up staying with the Giants this season.
“You never know how things will work out in life,” said Umenyiora on Saturday. “The season started one way for me, with all that trash-talking. Now it ends with . . . this.”
“There were times when I thought I might get traded,” he said, “and times when I thought they’d keep me around.”
Osi then laughed per the NY Daily News, “I’m glad they decided to keep me around.”
Osi indicated that he did feel like the Giants always truly cared about him through the whole situation.
“But it never reached the point of no return,” said Osi over the weekend. “It was business with me and business with them. But I never felt it was personal and I never felt they did, eit...

Osi Umenyiora Now Happy He Remained a New York Giant
Talk about doing a complete 180. New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who is now in Indy preparing for Super Bowl XLVI, is happy he remained on the team.
Yeah, I wonder why. This attitude is a far cry from where it was prior to the season opener, when it was clear Osi did not want to be on the team.

Super Bowl X Factors
Osi Umenyiora, DE, NYG- It’s easy to sleep on Osi Umenyiora. I think a lot of people have forgotten how dominant of a player Umenyiora can be when he is healthy. Osi Umenyiora vs. Matt Light
Osi Umenyiora technically is behind Jason Pierre-Paul on the Giants’ depth chart, but rest assured the TV cameras will zero in on this matchup when Umenyiora is on the field— which will be often. That’s because he and Matt Light don’t like each other, as the veteran Giant...
