What would we do without Twitter? Not only is it a source of entertainment, but also a forum for athletes and fans alike to sound off on how they really feel. Osi Umenyiora of the New York Giants recently Tweeted that he feels he will be in a wheelchair at age 45 because of playing football. Talk about adding fuel to the fire of Bounty Gate and the unfortunate passing of Junior Seau, due to what many believe was mental instability created by the hits he took in his playing days.

Its an awesome game and has done a lot for me, but i know when im 45 there is a strong chance il be in a wheelchair.

Osi Umenyiora: "when im 45 there is a strong chance il be in a wheelchair"

Yesterday I wrote that Cris Carter may become the voice of reason in the concussion debate. It would seem that one of the antagonists to reason and logic may be Osi Umenyiora who voiced his agreement with Kurt Warner about concerns over health concerns resulting from repeated hits to the head. Umenyiora didn't stop there. He also said that he thought he may end up in a wheel...

Umenyiora doesn’t agree with Toomer, backs Warner

New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora went on Twitter on Tuesday and spoke out about football the dangers of football and is clearly in support of what former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner said in regards to protecting his kids and not wanting them to play football. By the Way, Kurt Warner is Right to think how he is thinking about his kids and football. — Osi Umenyiora (@OsiUmenyiora...

LaVar Arrington thinks that keeping kids from playing football is “sissification”

Former NFL linebacker LaVar Arrington gave his opinion of the football’s “concussion crisis” on ESPN’s Outside the Lines and made it clear that he won’t be holding his kids back from playing the sport that he loves. “To me, it’s sissification, and I think that’s the only way to put it,” Arrington said. “I will not go through my life scared and I don’t want...

Former Giants WR Stacy Robinson dead at 50

Stacy Robinson, a wide receiver who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants before working with the players' union, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 50. ''We are deeply saddened by the passing of Stacy Robinson,'' Giants co-owner John Mara said in announcing the death late Tuesday. ''He was a good man who was loved and respected by his...

Video: Eli Manning’s SNL Sketch “Little Brothers” a Huge Winner

Eli Manning hosted Saturday Night Live this week. I did not watch it, but from various Twitter reports I saw it sounds like the consensus is that the first half of the show was great, but that the second half was not so great. This seems to be about par for the course with SNL these days. The reviews for Eli’s individual performance all seemed to be relatively positive. And as...

Osi Umenyiora says there’s a good chance he’ll be in a wheelchair by age 45

In case you haven’t taken note, Kurt Warner caused quite the stir last week with his comments about not wanting his children to play football. Everyone from analysts to former players to current players have weighed in on the matter, with some ripping Warner for dogging the game while others completely agree with him. Amani Toomer was one of the first to rip Warner for his comments...

New York Giants: Stacy Robinson Loses Battle With Cancer

I had the pleasure of meeting Stacy Robinson back in the summer of 1987.  After that encounter, I can honestly say that I have never met a nicer and more gracious person.  Robinson lost his battle with cancer at the young age of 50. He was a member of the 1986 and 1990 Super Bowl Championship squads and played his entire career (six seasons) as a Giant. Drafted out of North Dakota...

5 Collegiate Choices to Host SNL

5 Collegiate Choices to Host SNLThis past Saturday, Eli Manning hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time.  Eli has always had to live in his older brother Peyton’s shadow, and everyone wondered how the younger Manning would compare in his comedy debut.  He didn’t quite live up to Peyton, but he did do an admirable job.  He’ll just have to settle for those two Super...

Video: Eli Manning's SNL Skit "Little Brothers"

So what if he and the Giants snatched two Super Bowl rings from our Patriots, we just can't hate the guy for some reason. Eli did a great job last night on SNL. The skit of the night was this... var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
