Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson indicated this week that he sees some holes in the New York Giants defense that he can run the ball through.

“I think that if we cover the edges and run hard, no doing all this juking and that, one move and go, I think we can have success in the running game,” Richardson said.

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora wants to see Richardson try to run on them.

“If (Trent) looks on tape and he thinks he sees come candy, come try and get it,” Umenyiora said Friday, per the New York Daily News.

Richardson was very impressive last week against a stout Ravens defense.  It will be interesting to see what he can  do against the Giants who have a hard time playing disciplined defense.

Trent Richardson Misses Practice due to the Birth of his 3rd Child

For those who may follow me on Twitter, you may already know that I have what I like to call a "Confidential Informant" as it relates to matters concerning the Cleveland Browns. I have documented multiple breaking news stories sometimes weeks in advance of when the media picks up on these things (Phil Taylor injury, Joe Haden suspension, Trent Richardson knee surgery)....

Cleveland Browns Film Room: Scripting the Opening Offensive Series

One of the most telling parts of the gameplan will be revealed to open the game. Those are almost always going to be scripted plays to try and set the tone for the whole game. This week, the Browns were pretty successful to open the game, at least for the first few plays as they grabbed a quick first down. Let’s see exactly what they did and what they might have been telegraphing...

Browns' Richardson not scared of Giants

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- While breaking down game tape this week, Trent Richardson noticed some gaping holes in New York's defense. He plans to run through them -- and the Giants -- Sunday. The Browns rookie running back is aware the Philadelphia Eagles piled up 191 yards -- 123 by LeSean McCoy, who got 121 in the second half -- last week in a 19-17 win over the Giants. On a conference...

The Akron-Beacon Journal had an interview with Cleveland Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur who said that Trent Richardson has a nose for finding the end zone. The LeSean McCoy/Osi Umenyiora Feud is Over?

Well looks like the fun we had last week over this feud is already over according to LeSean McCoy. “We crossed paths a couple times, we gave each other the eye,” McCoy said on the SportsRadio WIP Player’s Lounge show on Monday. “In the warmups, we looked at each other funny. I think after the game, it’s time to get over this Osi and LeSean thing because after the game...

NFL Rumors: Osi Umenyiora Ditching Feud With LeSean McCoy To Start One With Trent Richardson?

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles have no love lost for each other. It is what helps make it one of greatest rivalries in the National Football League. Because of that, it was easy for Giants DE Osi Umenyiora and Eagles RB LeSean McCoy to start a war of words off the field. But while Umenyiora did not take the bait from McCoy prior to last week’s 19-17 Philadelphia win...

Osi Umenyiora to Trent Richardson: "Come & Get It"

Trent Richardson has made a habit of talking a bit of trash heading into games against good defenses. He's exchanged jabs with Rey Maualuga of the Bengals and while I don't see any issues with what he said entering this week's game against the New York Giants, apparently Osi Umenyiora did. Richardson was quoted saying: “I think that if we cover the edges and run hard...

In the Zone

Browns 27 – Giants 41 – Browns Start Fast, Finish Last

The good news is that the Browns scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. The Browns recovered a fumble deep in Giants territory to open the game and Trent Richardson scrambled 15 yards for the TD. Then Brandon Weeden finally hit a home run pass when he caught Josh Gordon against a linebacker deep for 62 yards and a TD. After that, the Giants started to play like the Giants and...
