Former New York Giants LB Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl ring went up for auction this week leading many questions as why the NFL great would sell his ring. When questioned by reporters as to why Taylor would sell his ring, he stated he didn’t even know it was for sale. SCP Auctions currently has the ring on auction and bids will continue until 10 p.m. Saturday night.
Taylor’s agent told reporters that he had given the ring to his son, Lawrence Taylor Jr. several years ago and he had no idea that his son was selling the ring. “Lawrence was in fact unaware of it. But he gave it to T.J. and it’s his right to do what he wants with it. He’s fine with whatever T.J. decided” said Mark Lepselter.
