There are some people who still seem to think that there's a slim chance that free agent running back Cedric Benson could land back with the Bengals as an insurance policy. We don't agree with that sentiment, and Benson doesn't seem to either as he said his "thank you's" to the Cincinnati faithful this offseason (via Geoff Hobson back in March).

Since then, there's been a flurry of rumors flying around about Benson. They ranged from the Cleveland Browns possibly being interested in the former Bengal, to the Oakland Raiders really giving him a hard look after losing Michael Bush to free agency.

Now, via radio personality and FOXSports.com writer Adam Schein, he tweets the public to let them know that two teams are showing interest in Benson's services:

The Packers use a committee approach with their running backs and each of them brings a different aspect to their game. Benson could be their "tough yards" kind of back that they are currently missing on their roster. Regardless, the Packers' offensive success lies with Aaron Rodgers' arm and none of the backs that they employ. The Raiders seem like a real plausible landing spot for Benson. They're not looking for a starter either, as Darren McFadden will be getting the bulk of the carries. But, with McFadden's penchant for sustaining injuries and Bush's departure to the Chicago Bears in free agency, the team could sign Benson to a minimal deal during training camp. If I were a betting man, I'd say that this is where he winds up, especially given the multiple rumors of the team being interested throughout the offseason.
