GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements is not one of the finalists for the head coaching job with the Chicago Bears. Clements was one of 13 candidates that Bears general manager Phil Emery brought in for an interview. However, when that list was narrowed down to three this week, Clements was not among them. "They're asking two guys back for second interviews and I'm not in that select group," Clements said. "I was grateful for the opportunity. Anytime you have a chance to interview for a head job, it's flattering. It was a good experience." Originally, the Bears were reportedly only going to have second interviews with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Marc Trestman, who is the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. Later, Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians -- who was the interim head coach for the Colts this season -- was invited in for a second interview with the Bears. Chicago fired Lovie Smith after nine seasons when the Bears failed to make the playoffs. With Clements likely staying in Green Bay now, the Packers won't have to worry about replacing their offensive coordinator for the second consecutive year. After last season, offensive coordinator Joe Philbin was hired as the new head coach of the Miami Dolphins. That led to Clements being promoted into that position after six seasons as the quarterbacks coach. Follow Paul Imig on Twitter

Steve Young says Jay Cutler can be as good as he wants to under Marc Trestman

The hiring of Marc Trestman is a blessing for Jay Cutler, ESPN analyst Steve Young believes. Cutler, who hasn’t had the supporting cast or sound offensive mind, now will get the chance to show his stuff. Report: Bears Receiver Brandon Marshall to Undergo Hip Surgery

Brandon Marshall almost single-handedly carried the Chicago Bears’ anemic passing attack this season, catching nearly four times as many passes for more than twice as many yards as any other wideout on the Bears’ roster. All that work took a hard toll on the seventh-year pro, and Marshall will now undergo arthroscopic hip surgery, ESPN.com’s Michael C. Wright reports. The...

Bears WR Brandon Marshall Requires Hip Surgery

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall needs to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his hip, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago. Tim Brown not confident about Bears' Trestman hire

Long time coordinator/quarterbacks coach and former Montreal Alouettes (CFL) head coach, Marc Trestman was hired to lead the Chicago Bears. For the Bears this hire was made to utilize the weapons they have on offense and was an indictment on former coach Lovie Smith, who was fired for the fact the offense wasn't consistent. I don't know how Bears fans view the hire and...
