The Green Bay Packers (9-4) expect to have linebacker Clay Matthews back in the lineup Sunday against the Chicago Bears (8-5) in an NFC showdown.
"I thought he looked good all week," coach Mike McCarthy said Friday after the Packers held their last practice before the game. "I look for Clay to play and make an impact in the game."
Matthews practiced the past three days without incident. The team's top pass rusher has missed the past four games because of a recurring hamstring injury.
"It's different speed when you're out there at game speed, but I think he's had a good week of practice building up, so I'm anxious to see him out there playing," defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. Source: Detroit Free Press

The Green Bay Packers expect to have linebacker Clay Matthews back in the lineup Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Matthews is listed as probable for the NFC North showdown. The team's top pass rusher has missed the last four games because of a hamstring injury.
Green Bay could be forced to make more changes on their offensive line. Right guard Josh Sitton (hip) is questionable...
Finals have brought on a crazy week so please excuse the briefness of this article.
The Green Bay Packers will look to wrap up the division title against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Here are some key notes and match ups to watch for.
The Packers must get the same running success they had last week against the Lions. The Bears defense is one of the best in the league so that...
According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the Green Bay Packers are now thinking about reducing wide receiver Randall Cobb’s kick returning duities since his offensive role has expanded so much this season.
We hear the Packers have at least given some thought to lessening multithreat Randall Cobb’s workload by reducing his kick-return duties.
The last thing the Packers want to do is...
We're still reeling from the unspeakable tragedy that has the nation and the world mourning the loss of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT.
The NFL and it's players are also grieving the senselessness, having dealt with it's share of tragedy this season, although nothing comparable to what transpired this morning. It's hard to think of mere sports events at...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Finally, the Packers have gotten through a game without a player being fined.
The streak of four consecutive games ended when safety Morgan Burnett did not receive a fine from the NFL this week.
In Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions, Burnett was flagged for unnecessary roughness early in the third quarter when he hit wide receiver Calvin Johnson.
CHICAGO Two more missed field goals from Mason Crosby in the Packers' division-clinching win over the Bears on Sunday has still not changed coach Mike McCarthy's mind about who their kicker should be for the remainder of this season.
"We're not changing our kicker, so you can write that down right now," McCarthy said. "He's our guy."
James Jones scored three touchdowns and got plenty of help from his friends as the Packers wrapped up the NFC North title.
Green Bay Packers (9-4) at Chicago Bears (8-5)
I’ve called the Packers overrated before. This was because they were really banged up with injuries and as a result, they weren’t really playing as well as people thought they are. Injuries to Cedric Benson and now James Starks left the mediocre Alex Green as the feature back, running behind an offensive line that struggles both...
Earlier this week, Green Bay Packer tight end Jermichael Finley came out and said the Bears are a better team without linebacker Brian Urlacher on the field.
Bears linebacker Lance Briggs came to the defense of Urlacher, but Urlacher also decided to fire back at Finley.
“Just like a couple of years ago, I think, he tore his ACL and the Packers were actually better without him,”...
Chicago's chances at making the playoffs took a big hit today after losing at home 21-13 to the Green Bay Packers. The Bears no long control their own fate in the NFC.
The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers boast one of the most intense rivalries in all of football. So, you can only imagine what everyday life is like for a displaced Packers fan living in Chicago.Such is the case for 8-year old and second-grader Mason. Her parents hail from the great state of Wisconsin, which means she and her sisters were born Packers fans. Recently, Bears mascot...
