Donald Driver has become the latest Packers' legend to be immortalized.

On Saturday, city officials and Green Bay brass unveiled a statue and street in honor of the recently retired receiver, who spent 14 NFL seasons in "Titletown."

The statue is 28-years-old and was refurbished by apparent Packers "Fence Painter" Chris Handler to best resemble Driver, clutching a football in a No. 80 jersey.

The street, now known as Donald Driver Way, intersects Dousman Street, after the change from Pearl Street was made by Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt.

A tearfully joyous Driver expressed his gratitude to the several hundred fans that came out for the festivities.

“It’s not my street sign, it’s your street sign,” Driver said, via the Packers' official website. “To have a statue that has my name on the back of it, it has nothing to do with me, it has everything to do with you. Because you all have put me on a pedestal that I would have never thought to be standing on.”

In attendance was former Packers GM Ron Wolf, who drafted Driver in 1999. The 38-year-old recalled a key meeting between the two.

“In 1999, I remember Ron pulling me up to his office and he said, ‘Hey, kid, I have everything riding on you,’” Driver said. “And I told Ron, ‘If you give me an opportunity, I will never let you down.’”

Driver ended the ceremony much like he carried himself on the field -- with class.

“I have to get down before I start crying again,” he said. “Thank you all, and I love you all truly.”
