In a surprising development, the Green Bay Packers have announced that safety Charles Woodson will miss at least the next six weeks
after breaking his collarbone during Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.
McCarthy said the injury is
similar to the one Woodson suffered in the 2011 Super Bowl, but not as severe.
There was no sign of the injury following the Packers’ game.
Woodson reportedly sustained the injury late in the fourth quarter and didn’t
return for Green Bay’s final series on defense. The veteran broke his
collarbone while diving for a pass.
Marc Sessler of NFL.com believes the six week recovery
window may be a bit generous considering this is an injury Woodson has now
sustained twice in two years.
