The Green Bay Packers have announced that they will be
without starting linebacker D.J. Smith and backup running back Brandon Saine
for the remainder of the season, reports Kareem Copeland of NFL.com.
Smith injured his knee during the Packersâ victory over the
Houston Texans Monday Sunday night. Coach Mike McCarthy didnât offer details on
Smithâs injury, just saying that it will keep him out for the season.
Saine also sustained a knee injury and has been placed on
IR. Cornerback Sam Shields (shin) and linebacker Nick Perry (knee) also left
Sundayâs contest due to injury, and the Packers will have more information on
them later in the week.
