Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden will start Sunday's game against the New York Giants despite his arrest last week.
Walden spent the weekend in jail after he was taken into custody for an alleged incident involving his live-in girlfriend, who originally said they were arguing and Walden pushed her down.
The woman later admitted that she hit Walden first. She was taken to a local hospital with a head laceration stemming from the encounter.
An NFL spokesman said the league is viewing the incident.
The 26-year-old Walden has 41 tackles and three sacks while starting all 11 games this season for the undefeated Packers.
