Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he does not expect running back Ryan Grant to play this week.
Grant, who suffered a bruised kidney in Sunday's win at Chicago, will be given the chance to practice Friday, McCarthy said.
Grant had his best game of the season against the Bears, rushing for 92 yards on 17 carries. He has been splitting time with James Starks, who would get the bulk of the work against Denver if Grant is unable to go.
Grant played in only one game last season for the reigning Super Bowl champions before undergoing surgery for an injured ankle.
He had played in all 16 games in the previous two seasons, rushing for back-to-back 1,200-yard seasons.
