Is Marshall Newhouse as Good as his Pro Football Focus Numbers?
Packers T Marshall Newhouse has been solid so far this season.
Regular readers of this site know that we like to cite Pro Football Focus (PFF) metrics when talking about the Packers. I wouldn’t call any of us football sabermaticians, but PFF does some excellent work trying to make football analysis as objective as possible.
Too often, people either treat sites like PFF as the...
Packers' Rodgers, Raji are on the mend
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- One day of limited participation at practice was enough for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After admitting Wednesday that the calf injury he suffered in the Week 6 win over the Houston Texans was still "a little tight," Rodgers was feeling better Thursday as he took part in every phase of Green Bay's practice."He's been getting a lot...
Packers Video: Ryan Pickett Best Packers Nose Tackle Hands down
Packers’ Best Nose Tackle: Ryan Pickett
Ryan Pickett had a whale of a game against the Houston Texans. Their Pro Bowler center, the 6’4″ 290lb Chris Meyers, was no match for Pickett. Double teams were no match for Pickett, except when he got chop blocked (more on that later).
The best the Texans were able to do against Pickett was keep him on the line of scrimmage. There...
Last week in limited time Jerel Worthy was impressive for Packers
In the offseason Packers second-round DE Jerel Worthy said he was “rotating with the ones a lot” during the workouts. The Packers were counting on Worthy and first-round OLB Nick Perry to immediately help a defense that allowed the most yards in the NFL last season. Worthy, who projected as a solid inside rusher out of the 3-4, was expected to battle with C.J. Wilson for the...
The Packers cannot make the playoffs with this defense. Updated NFC playoff predictions.
It is no secret that the Packers defense is terrible. Their record setting offense covered up for a lot of problems last season. The problem is, this season that offense is not clicking. With Rodgers and the offense stalling, the defense is being exposed even more. I know they got a bad deal in Seattle, but why were the Seahawks even in that game. They cannot make the playoffs...

Jermichael Finley’s Flimsy Fingers
In 2010, Jermichael Finley was one of Green Bay‘s hot new featured receivers. His size and strength made him a versatile and powerful tight end, adding an already budding, explosive offense. Then, in Week 5 Finley suffered a season ending knee injury and things haven’t been the same since. Jermichael Finley has seen his vital role dwindle down to that of a rushing and passing...
2012 NFL Regular Season Week 7: Packers vs Rams Preview
Can Aaron Rodgers keep the offense on a roll against the improved Rams?
There is nothing wrong with Aaron Rodgers. I repeat: there is nothing wrong with Aaron Rodgers.
Any doubts about issues the Green Bay Packers may have been having on offense were silenced permanently last Sunday as Rodgers threw a franchise record-tying six touchdown passes as the Packers shredded the NFL’s...
Fantasy Football News Week Seven: Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings still out
Despite an impressive showing by the Green Bay Packers on the road last Sunday night against the previously undefeated Houston Texans, the Packers offense will not receive any additional help on offense this week. According to the Packer Report this afternoon on Twitter, Greg Jennings will be out of the lineup again this week as the Packers take on the St. Louis Rams.
According to...
Packers to continue search for 2011 in St. Louis
GREEN BAY, Wis. A matchup with the St. Louis Rams is not an easy win like it had been in recent years. The Rams were one of the NFL's worst teams, winning only 15 games over the past five seasons combined. That is, of course, as many games as the Packers won just last year alone. But with St. Louis handing the team over to new head coach Jeff Fisher, the Rams have the same record...
Jennings having fun with Inaccurate Reception
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Being on the wrong end of arguably the worst call in NFL history does have its perks. Packers safety M.D. Jennings is finding that out first-hand.It's not as if Jennings is going to be able to quit his day job and tour the country signing posters of the infamous final play in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. But with Packers fans wanting a memorable...
Depth especially key for the 2012 Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Next man up. It's not a new idea in the NFL and it's one that the Packers are once again becoming quite familiar with as their injury report continues to grow. But in Green Bay this season, the next man up at many positions is arguably just as good as -- if not better than -- the player he's replacing. The depth on the Packers' roster, as put together...
