AJ Dillon explains why Jordan Love will be successful in 2023

The Green Bay Packers received a great deal of criticism from media and fans alike when they drafted quarterback Jordan Love and running back AJ Dillon in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. Now, however, Dillon is widely regarded as the best backup running back in the NFL, and Love is poised to take over as the team’s starting quarterback.

Throughout the years, both players have had more than their fair share of detractors. Both players will be looking to prove their doubters wrong in 2023 and return the Packers to their winning ways. In a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Dillon revealed why he thinks Love will be successful in his first year as the starting quarterback.

Dillon said:

“It’s one of those things, you know, where he has been in the system. And you know that you never go into a game RB2 or quarterback two. You’re always preparing to be that starter. And if whatever happens, you might be thrust into that role.

“There have been a couple times already in his career where he’s had to step up and he’s had to play. He’s done a great job at it.

“I think the fact that he has been here, you know, the guys know him. I came in with him. We did combine prep together. We got drafted together. So we’ve got a great friendship and great relationship.

“But people trust him. When he enters the huddle, it’s not like it’s just some new guy that just popped up is calling the shots. He’s been there for going into the fourth year now.

“I think he definitely has the intangibles. He’s earned the trust of the locker room. Guys want to play for him. Guys want to help him as much as they want to help themselves. He’s got a lot of support, and everybody would run through a wall for him.”

Of course, there have been several Packers players who have come out in support of Love throughout the course of this offseason. Aaron Jones, Rashan Gary, Elgton Jenkins, Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson have all been recorded saying that they believe Love is going to be a good quarterback right away in 2023.
