TEAMS: Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Perhaps it won't be long until these are household names for Packers fans. On Thursday, general manager Ted Thompson announced that eight of Green Bay's practice-squad players had signed free-agent contracts with the Packers. That list includes wide receivers Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel, who are the early favorites to make next season's active roster once a decision is made on veteran Donald Driver. Gurley turned down an opportunity to join the Minnesota Vikings' late in the season, despite having a chance to make his NFL debut. Also signing were offensive linemen Chris Campbell and Sampson Genus, cornerback Brandian Ross, fullback Jon Hoese, safety Anthony Levine and defensive lineman Johnny Jones.
