After getting bumped out of the playoffs by San Francisco, for veteran receivers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver, this could have been their last game in a Packers uniform. Jennings believes that Green Bay will move on instead of giving him the type of money Jennings will warrant on the open market.
Jennings also believes that the team wants to get more opportunities for younger receivers to continue their development.
For the 37 year old Driver, this may be his swan song in the NFL. In 2012, Driver only had 8 catches for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns, his production has had a sharp decline in the past two years and retirement could be an option.
Both spoke about what they perceive will happen this offseason.
"It’s been great — I love this organization, but the reality is that there will probably be some changes made," Jennings said. "Hopefully I’m here, if not I’m ready to move wherever.
I love this organization, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, but if I have to that’s what I’m ready to do," according to Michael David Smith of profootballweekly.com.
"I’m hoping that this relationship won’t end, but if it does, you know, I’ve gotten close to a lot of guys on this team, and I’m going to continue to be friends with everyone on this team and I’m going to move on to the second chapter of my career, whatever that may be," Driver said.
