Packers: Roster Moves

Jrlombardi presents acquisitions and roster moves. The Packers made two roster additions today, acquiring linebackers Diryal Briggs off waivers and signing veteran Matt Wilhelm. Briggs is a 6-4, 250-pound outside linebacker. An NFL source said the Packers signed Wilhelm, an inside linebacker who has played for San Diego, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The source said the Packers planned to release linebacker Maurice Simpkins. They will have to make another roster move, likely putting defensive end Mike Neal and/or linebacker Brady Poppinga Poppinga on injured reserve.
