TEAMS: Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots
Are there really any more superlatives one can use to describe the 2011 Green Bay Packers? Apparently so. Yesterday, before the Packers took the Oakland Raiders to the Lambeau Field woodshed for a whupping, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher declared that, "In my opinion, no team has been greater." That certainly sets up a conversation filled with opinions. But for now, at least, the Packers are certainly the greatest team this season...and unarguably the second greatest over a two-season span, winning 19 consecutive games going back to last year. This Packers team trails only the New England Patriots of several years back who reeled off 21 games in a row over two seasons. The Pack are enjoying a historic season from a team perspective, setting records for scoring, consecutive wins, etc. QB Aaron Rodgers finally had his NFL record consecutive streak of games with a passer rating over 100 snapped yesterday, falling just short of that mark. Even an MVP has an off day now and t...

Green Bay Packers are likely to place Franchise Tag of TE Jermichael Finley
Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley is in the final season of his contract and would like a new long-term deal before the new NFL season begins anew in March, but it is growing more and more apparent that the Green Bay Packers are simply going to place the franchise tag on the tight end.
Unless Finley and the Green Bay Packers can come to an agreement before the start of the new...

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers continued his record-setting pace with two touchdown passes in a 46-16 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Packers versus 49ers? Niner Noise and Lombardi Ave get a start on the possibilities
Who will win home field advantage throughout the NFL Playoffs? Packers or 49ers?
So, the 49ers fans, at least one of them – Matt Hamm over at Niner Noise – is taking the Packers to task and already talking smack about the potential for the Packers versus 49ers meeting in the playoffs.
But we here in Packers Nation certainly won’t stand for the trash talkin’...
Aaron Rodgers on Ryan Braun: There Should Be Some Sort of Confidentiality
In case you haven’t heard, Ryan Braun recently failed a drug test. Considering he recently took home MVP honors in the National League, that is pretty significant news. If it is determined that Braun is guilty after he goes through the appeal process, he would face a 50-game suspension and an enormous hit to his [...]
Packers WR Greg Jennings Carted To The Locker Room Vs Raiders
Packers receiver Greg Jennings just left the field on a cart after suffering a left injury that put him in obvious pain and unable to put any weight on the leg. We won't bother speculating on the seriousness of the injury, but Jennings is a pretty tough guy and doesn't leave games very often. He hasn't missed a game, in fact, since 2007. The injury occurred early in the...
The Best Opponent For The Packers In The Super Bowl
Power rankings. You hate them. They’re so arbitrary and pointless, especially when they include all 32 NFL teams. All you want to know after a good week of NFL action is who the bestest team in the NFL right now, and which one is the absolute barrel-scraping worst. That’s why we have TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE NFL, where we go to great lengths to tell you who’s the...

Packers roll to 13-0, but Jennings hurt (AP)

Former Dolphins QB Dan Marino Would 'Love' Bill Cowher In Miami
The good news is former Miami Dolphins quarterback and Hall of Famer Dan Marino is influential in Miami and wants Bill Cowher to be the team's next head coach. The bad news is Marino, who works closely with Cowher as a fellow CBS football analyst, doesn't think it will happen. "I would love to see (Bill Cowher) be the Dolphins coach or if he wanted to coach again because...
