According to the Associated Press, Green Bay Packers safety Atari Bigby could miss the beginning of the 2010 season after his recent ankle surgery is expected to keep him off the field for another 4-8 weeks. Bigby had surgery on his ankle back on August 6 and was originally expected to be healthy enough to return before the team’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, the timetable for his return has been pushed back and now there seems to be a chance Bigby could begin the regular season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list—which would require him to miss the first six games. 2010 will be Bigby’s sixth season with the Packers. He started 11 games last season, finishing with 37 tackles and four interceptions.
