GREEN BAY, Wis. Cedric Benson is on his way to Green Bay. In an exclusive interview with FOXSportsWisconsin.com, Packers running back Alex Green confirmed Benson's imminent arrival. "I was informed today that Cedric Benson will be coming in, so that's a great thing for us," Green told FOXSportsWisconsin.com on Sunday afternoon. "It'll help the team out. He's a great running back. That'll be a great thing for us to learn from and get a better feel for the running back position." Reports of Benson's signing with Green Bay broke Friday night, but throughout both of the team's weekend practices, there was no sign of him. However, by the time the Packers begin practice Monday morning, Benson should be in uniform with his new teammates. With Benson now 29 years old, it remains to be seen whether the skills that helped him rack up three consecutive 1,000-plus-yard seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals will turn around a Green Bay running ...

Packers sign Cedric Benson

After going fully with a youth approach at the running back position this offseason, the Packers have finally caved and signed a veteran back, signing Cedric Benson, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, to a one year contract. Prior to Benson’s signing, the idea was to have James Starks, a 2010 6th round pick with just 162 career carries, and Alex Green, a 2011 3rd round pick with...

Cedric Benson officially joins Packers

As expected, the Packers have bolstered their backfield. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cedric Benson officially signed a one-year contract on Sunday, becoming Green Bay’s newest running back. Financial terms aren’t yet available, though the pact is likely for the league minimum. Benson, 29, had been on the Packers’ radar for the last week due to starter James Starks‘ recent...

Benson chose Packers over Raiders, Lions

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Cedric Benson knows that his new team, the Green Bay Packers, are a pass-first offense. But Benson, a 29-year-old running back who was drafted fourth overall in 2005, doesn't believe that signing with the Packers means it's necessarily the end of his three-consecutive-year streak of rushing for at least 1,000 yards."I definitely have a goal to still...

Cedric Benson to the Packers, Fantasy Football Analysis

As I was walking down the hallway today, I heard this loud destructive sound from the distance. Dynasty owners were cautiously hoping Starks could develop into the lead back for Green Bay this season and be a nice RB3 or...
