The Green Bay Packers have been burned by injuries on the field throughout 2012. The list is depressing: Desmond Bishop, Bryan Bulaga, Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews, Cedric Benson, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, D.J. Smith, Sam Shields, Nick Perry, James Starks. All have missed multiple games or been placed on injured reserve. The Packers protected their pocketbooks when signing veteran Ryan Grant this week after Starks went down. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Bob McGinn reported Grant had to sign a split contract that pays the minimum base salary of $700,000, but is reduced to $368,000 if he ends up on injured reserve. Ryan Grant Signing Makes Sense for Packers

Ryan Grant is the best option for the Green Bay Packers at this point. When Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin broke the news this week that the Green Bay Packers were bringing back familiar veteran Ryan Grant, it quickly spread like wildfire across the internet. After choosing not to resign Grant in the offseason, the Packers made it clear that they were ready to move on. And to seemingly...

Clay Matthews Not Ready To Return

Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will miss his fifth consecutive game Sunday against Detroit. He's been dealing with a hamstring issue.Fantasy Spin:Green Bay was hoping Matthews would be fully recovered by now, but at this point they are just hoping he'll be ready for Week 15. This is great news for Matthew Stafford and the Lions' offense.

Jordy Nelson Ruled Out For Week 14

Packers receiver Jordy Nelson missed every practice this week and is out for Week 14 against Detroit.Fantasy Spin:Green Bay has plenty of depth in the receiving corps, particularly with the return of Greg Jennings, so this injury shouldn't affect Aaron Rodgers' performance too drastically - just Nelson's fantasy owners.

Griffen fined for late hit on Packers' Rodgers

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Now that defensive end Everson Griffen has been fined, the Minnesota Vikings won't be any more pleased with the NFL over what it felt was a penalty on a clean play in last Sunday's loss to Green Bay. The NFL announced Friday that Griffen will lose 15,750 for a roughing-the-passer penalty on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers late in the second quarter...

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers: Week 14 NFL Pick

Detroit Lions (4-8) at Green Bay Packers (8-4) This is a really interesting game. Earlier this week, I wrote about some of the parity related things that happen every single year and how those could be used to help predict games the rest of the way. The Lions are by far the likeliest candidate to be this year’s team that goes from in the playoffs to 5 wins or fewer. Only the Saints...

Packers CB Williams fined $21,000

Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams was fined $21,000 for his personal foul on Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart during Sunday's game. Television replays showed that Williams' helmet launched into Gerhart's helmet. Gerhart was considered a defenseless receiver on the play. It appeared that Williams was trying to hit Gerhart with his shoulder, according...

Aaron Rodgers had an incredible game against the Texans, and that was when the Defense was healthy. Do you think Brady can replicate the success he had, especially with all of the Defensive injuries?

I think that game was also a little skewed because the Packers were on fire and the Texans were a...

2012 MVP: Aaron Rodgers?

In this article I take a look at one of my four choices for NFL MVP, Mr. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Although his numbers are down from last year he is still having a solid season and has Green Bay right in the thick of the post-season chase. As of the writing [...]

The 10 Most Memorable Bad Weather Games in Green Bay Packers History

The weather forecast holds promise. Dreaming of a White Packers home game is now almost wished upon as much as a White Christmas. Not that a White Christmas is a huge necessity; at least a Christmas without snow ensures getting to Grandma’s and back safely. But white-out Packers games become instant memories. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to happen as often these days – damn global...

Green Bay Packers go with a balanced look in win over the Lions

Balance was the word of the day for the Green Bay Packers on a snowy night at Lambeau Field. A breakdown of 32 rushing plays compared to 24 passing plays helped the Packers (9-4) overcome the Detroit Lions by the score of 27-20. Even the famous and tremendously funny Will Ferrell was digging the Packers on this night with his winter knit Packers cap and a performance of “Roll Out...

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Week 14 preview: Two streaks on the line heading into Lambeau

The Detroit Lions travel into historic Lambeau Field Sunday night to do battle with the Green Bay Packers. The Frozen Tundra has been a house of horrors for The Detroit Lions as they continue to battle ghosts of the past and present. Detroit hasn’t won in Green Bay since George H. Bush was President all the way back on December 15th, 1991 by a score of 21-17. This Packers team...

From Red Hot to Ice Cold in the Red Zone

Green Bay's offense ranks eighth in the NFL inside the 20-yard line but the last four games have produced some dismal results. How can that be, given Aaron Rodgers' success inside the red zone? This is a critical note considering Detroit's red-zone defense ranks ninth.
