Packers WR Greg Jennings is rising after Sunday’s game. For the last three years, I’ve always been confident whenever the Packers play because they had the best player on the field. No matter who the Packers were playing, what the score was, or how slow the Packers started, I always felt good because I knew that Aaron Rodgers played for Green Bay and would probably find a way to win the game. He was the best player on the field and the best player on the field typically comes through and leads his team to a win. Not always, but usually. When the Packers play the Vikings in the playoffs on Saturday, Rodgers will not be the best player on the field. That title will belong to Adrian Peterson, and it scares me. The Packers are better than the Vikings in almost every facet of the game. But as long as Peterson is carrying the ball, the Vikings will have a shot. I shouldn’t be nervous about Saturday, but I am. And it’s all because of Peterson. Hopefully, for at least one night, Rodgers reg...

Jennings: 'Would you rather play outside?'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The benefits of playing at home in the NFL playoffs are supposed to significantly outweigh any potential drawbacks. When that home game takes place at a storied venue like Lambeau Field, it typically makes the advantages even greater. But Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings doesn't see it that way. "Absolutely, I would be on turf quick," Jennings...

Aaron Rodgers ripped on Twitter by Greg Jennings’ sister

Wow! The kids in elementary school (in the insurance ad) aren’t as hard on Aaron Rodgers as the sister of Greg Jennings. No discount double check applicable to Valyncia Jennings. Despite the fact that her brother was targeted 12 times and had 120 yards receiving in the Green Bay Packers loss to the Minnesota Vikings, she was still less than satisfied. She’s an example of how...

Packers still believe they can stop Peterson

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- There wasn't much that the Packers were able to do in the regular season to stop Adrian Peterson. The Minnesota Vikings' star running back totaled 409 yards in two games, making Green Bay's defense look helpless on many of his breakout runs. Instead of enjoying a restful bye week and watching as four playoff teams get eliminated on wild-card weekend...

Vikes' Peterson wants to play special teams too

Adrian Peterson has done plenty over the years for the Minnesota Vikings and he has never publicly balked at taking on even more responsibility. How about special teams? Of course, he'd love to do that, too. Peterson said Wednesday he has been lobbying to be on the field-goal block team. He also said he ''wouldn't mind getting back there'' as a kickoff returner...

Adrian Peterson didn't realize how close he was to breaking record

It might have been the excitement of making the playoffs but  — after falling just nine yards shy of Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record of 2,105 yards — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson seemed genuinely flabbergasted that he had come so close to breaking the 28-year-old record. While being interviewed post-game by Fox's Pam Oliver — after...

If the Packers Want to Stop Peterson, Defense Needs to Be Tougher

Packers CB Tramon Williams needs to step outside his comfort zone and tackle Adrian Peterson if the Vikings want to win on Saturday night. People usually think of toughness as some intangible trait, something that can’t be measured by an actual set of skills or statistics. People also use the word toughness as an adjective, a cliche to just throw out there when they really can’t...

Peterson, Walsh win Player of Month honors

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The honors continue to roll in for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and rookie kicker Blair Walsh. Peterson, after rushing for a single-month record of 861 yards, was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month for December. Walsh, who made 11 of 12 field goal attempts in December, took home the Special Teams Player of the Month award. The...

Packers To Have Deals Done With QB Aaron Rodgers, LB Clay Matthews Before April?

On the Packers' contract front, it’s been assumed since before the season began that it would be only a matter of time before the team re-ups with the players widely considered to be its best performers on both sides of the ball — offensive centerpiece Aaron Rodgers and defensive centerpiece Clay Matthews. Rodgers, who displayed his 2011 MVP form the second half of this...

Clay Matthews says Adrian Peterson won’t rush for over 200 yards against the Packers

In the two games during the regular season that the Vikings played the Packers, Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson has racked up over 400 yards rushing against Green Bay.Packers linebacker Clay Matthews Jr. says they won’t allow Peterson to rush for 200 yards on Saturday night.“We aren’t giving up 200 again,” Matthews said Wednesday, per USA Today Sports.I find it funny...

Playoff Preview: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

In what will be their third matchup this season, I expect this upcoming playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers to play like the others from this past season. Minnesota forced it’s way into the playoffs last week with a home victory against the Pack, however Green Bay won the division. Like their other games, Saturday will be feature Minnesota’s Adrian...

Tom Clements: The Best Kept Secret in the NFL

With another season in the books, it's time to look at potential head coaches that can help another team that have been either assistants or coordinators for their respective team.Today, I am going to talk about one that I believe has been flying under the radar and how his team would hate to lose him.As of now, he is the offensive coordinator for an offense that is about to...

Packers want to force Ponder to beat them

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Adrian Peterson was the best player for the Minnesota Vikings all season. There is no debating that. But as great as the team's star running back was, he needed some help from quarterback Christian Ponder in order to get the Vikings into the playoffs. Throughout most of the season, Peterson didn't get that help. In his second NFL season, Ponder mostly struggled...

Ponder has quietly passed through his struggles

The Minnesota Vikings are Adrian Peterson's team. Christian Ponder, though, is the one most responsible for their progress. The passing game was so bad and the ground game was so good that, for a while, Peterson was rushing for more yards than Ponder was accumulating passing. But since the Vikings lost to the Packers on Dec. 2, due largely to the two interceptions Ponder threw...

Power Ranking The NFL's Three Most Valuable Player Candidates

Brady. Peterson. Manning. All names synonymous with individual success, accolades and just flat out dominance. Now they all share the same stage in the rigorous MVP debate.Tom Brady remained his usual dominant self once again, while Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson returned from serious injuries and played like they never left.Brady was consistent throughout the season from a statistical...

Passing game a welcome addition for Vikings

Sunday's 37-34 win against the Green Bay Packers perhaps wasn't the most dominating win of the season for the Minnesota Vikings, but it certainly was the biggest. Beating NFC North champion Green Bay was Minnesota's most important victory since the 2009 season. A 37-34 win, thanks to a time-expiring 29-yard field goal by rookie kicker Blair Walsh doesn't qualify...
