According to Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers RB James Starks is expected to get “his share of touches” against the Cardinals this weekend.
Alex Green‘s dismal performance against the Jaguars was enough for head coach Mike McCarthy to express his concern publicly. On the season, Green is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, so it makes sense that the Packers would consider all available options at this point.
Green Bay was rumored to be a landing spot for a number of running backs leading up to yesterday’s trade deadline, but it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that they decided to stand pat. Cedric Benson will be eligible to come off of IR later in the season and he is reportedly making good progress.
