Green Bay Packers
GREEN BAY, Wisc. -- Charles Woodson has openly questioned personnel and schematic decisions when things haven't gone right for the Green Bay defense in seasons past. As the Packers set out on a new season, Woodson didn't feel the need to speak up and voice any misgivings when a different plan of attack was laid out for the defense. "They said, 'Hey, you're playing safety. Get back there,'" Woodson said of the marching orders from the coaches. "That's what I did." And, Woodson seemingly couldn't be happier - and more in agreement - with what coordinator Dom Capers has drawn up to try to rescue Green Bay's defense from the abyss. The opening week of training camp for the Packers featured a whole lot of Woodson, the eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback, at safety. He's still listed as a cornerback on the roster and ostensibly will play there with frequency when Green Bay morphs into its sub packages on passing downs, but the muc...

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Don't try to tell Green Bay Packers offensive line coach James Campen that his starting five basically was determined before training camp started. I am probably the driver of the “Green Bay Packers don’t need a running back” bandwagon. So it may be funny that I took the time to talk with Brandon Saine this week at training camp. The fact is the Packers will always have running backs, it’s just part of football.
So why Saine? I like his story. It fits in line with numerous Packers on...

2011 Recap: Cobb started the season with a bang as he took back a kickoff for 108 yards and scored on a 32 yard TD. It was his best work of the season though. He was buried on the depth chart and never assumed a regular role in the offense as he finished with only 24/369/1 on only 30 targets. The good news is he had an exceptional...

The Packers were looking for big things from running back James Starks in his third season. So far, they haven't seen it according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Who said Donald Driver is over the hill? OK, maybe we said that at one point during the offseason. However, he's had an impressive start to training camp and figures to turn this season into something more than a farewell tour while putting up numbers better than some Hall of Famers.
