A new deal for Donald Driver will likely be in place before he’s on the practice field again for the Green Bay Packers. The Dancing With the Stars champion should be back soon to join the club’s offseason program. According to Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee, the Packers will hold workouts Wednesday through Friday this week and Driver is expected to arrive at some point. But some business needs to be completed first. Driver is to earn a total of $5 million this season and has already publicly said he is willing to take a pay reduction in order to stick around. “We will work things out once he gets back from the show,” Driver’s agent Jordan Woy told Wilde. “I have talked to Packers for a while about Donald.” As Wilde noted, the club will likely want the deal done before Driver begins working out. That way, the Packers will not be on the hook for the full boat of $5 million if a freak injury occurs. Source: National Football Post Attached Thumbnails
